When not frozen the ice packs are flat and stack well when you put them in the freezer. After they are frozen a bulge will appear on one of the surfaces, then they will not stack well at all. Because of the bulge, they tend to slide around. I have six of these and they all do the same thing. A couple of times when opening the freezer door the ice packs fell out and just about landed on "mom's" foot. That would have been very painful. I bought two of these ice packs and use them daily in the bottom of my Yeti 8-can cooler. I Fill the cooler with all my lunch items and place another ice pack on top, then wait the eight hours until lunch. After my twelve-hour shift is complete, these ice packs are still mostly frozen solid. I believe they are the best value ice packs you can buy, a much better value than the over-priced Yeti versions, and all other versions, for that matter. ... show more

It’s hot here on the High Desert and the chicks are having a little trouble breathing once in the metal nest to do the egg drop. We slip some of these in under the straw and it seems to be enough to cool them down enough so they aren’t struggling… one per nest inserted midday. We also have a few for cooler bags we keep in the trunk of the car for food shopping since the stores are about 40-miles away and it keeps everything cold and/or frozen enough that it’s not totally defrosted. The cooler bags and ice packs as actually worked much better than several huge coolers in the car and when empty they fold flat and store out of the way… just have to remember to put them in the car before leaving. For under 4-bucks each they were some of the lowest priced we could find but they seem as sturdy as others we have that cost much more. ... show more
