He absolutely loved it, he uses it as a lunch box to take to work and it's very sturdy and fits many snacks and food for his long work days. It keeps the items cool all day long with an ice pack. I wanted a large cooler that could keep water cold through very long, hot days. I had good luck with Igloo products in the past so I decided to go with this one. It is pretty large. I only store four 1 liter bottles in it but I'm able to fill the rest up with enough ice to generally keep my water cold for close to 24 hours if the water was cold when it was filled. I have fit 1 gallon plus two 1 liters in there before. There is a lot of space. My initial thoughts when I first got it was that it seemed like a plastic that wouldn't be very durable. Two years later and much abuse, and my mind has changed on that thought. A couple months ago I had a forklift completely smash these between a pole and a stack of pallets. He was trying to push the pallets against the pole and kept pushing until he realized they weren't moving anymore. When I came out and found it I thought it was done for. Parts were caved in and the lid was lifted away from the base. After backing the pallets off it sort of regained some of it's shape and would open and close. I planned on buying a new one. By the next morning the entire thing had popped back out to the original form and was sealing up as good as before. You can see stress marks all over in the plastic but it's still going strong. My father has an Igloo that is about to go on 35 years of work duty. I don't know if this one would make it that long, but I'm pleasantly surprised by the durability so far. ... show more

I was looking for a larger lunch box for my long 12+ hour days welding at work Mon-friday and typically Saturdays.Ive had this 14.8 quart Igloo cooler for a few months now and let me tell you this lunch box will SURELY fit all your needs in here and not put a dent in your wallet. My camel-back eddy water bottle even fits standing. I am able to fit a large square ice pack multiple glad ware bowls, or sometimes my glass Pyrex bowls with lids in here multiple cans of tuna yogurt nutri-grain bars etc and still not even half way full! Expect to receive some flack from your coworkers about it, as in they will expect you to have something in it for them. I have noticed alot of reviews regarding the physical appearance. The light grey lid, has an almost marbled looking effect in the construction of it, itself. Some may mistaken this as a defect, or even a sign of cracking. This is NOT the case, merely a cosmetic thing, mostly due to the construction of the product in molding. This cooler seems to me, to not be as high a quality as the old school original Igloo coolers, but over all, if you are looking for a large lunch box (either for long work days, or if your big into fitness, lifting, gym workouts, or just want to plan your whole meal out for the day and be healthy) to fit all your food in, and not worry about it getting messed up or crushed, this lunch box may be a great pick for you! Just make sure the size won't be an issue for you!.. My rating is a 4 stars out of 5, mostly due to the lid ( light grey part) and button latch just don't have that heavy durable feel to them as my igloo lunch box from long ago did... ... show more

First one arrived broken as it was shipped button down with no protection in the box. Ordered a replacement direct from Igloo also shipped no protection in the box but wasn't broken. Went to the range and left this in the car with 4 ice packs. Mind you it was 85 out with 85% humidity not in the shade inside a black car with the windows down. Kept 4, 32oz bottles of water and 2, 1l bottles of Pepsi ice cold for 6 hours. I took bottles out as I finished them and didn't keep it open for long. ... show more

Finally an old school playmate that’s made in the USA, don’t be fooled by other playmates. They have one on the market that is called Kooltunes but it’s made in china. I was so excited to see this.
