    • Well Built Keeps Ice For Days

The media could not be loaded. This Igloo Cooler is very well built and seems like it will hold up to use for a long time. I tested it on a road trip where I stayed overnight at a campground and had it sitting in my van the whole time. I put ice in it on a Monday, camped overnight, came home and left it and drinks in the cooler in the van.The video shows what I find when I go out to the van for a look on the following Friday to see if there was any ice left and well, the video shows that there still was ice! Sure it had some water, but, quite a bit of ice still. The drinks were very cold still. Now, one thing that some may see as a con is that it doesn't have a drain plug, but, for me, it was what I wanted because I have heard stories about the drain plugs leaking water out and since I was going to have this sitting in my van I did not want the risk water leakage in my van. It's not that big of deal to dump it out when you are finished using the cooler. The latches like the ones here on some other brand coolers, I have read were too hard to pull and then some of them broke eventually from having to pull them so hard and stretching them so much. The latches on the Igloo seem to be just right. You don't have to pull really hard, just enough to release it and then put it back to secure it. I also like the little places on the top for tie downs. The handle is very sturdy and solid and easy to grip. Igloo has been making coolers for a long long time, and this is a lot less expensive than some other competitors and I doubt if someone is going to want to steal my Igloo cooler, another reason why I went with this brand. It looks really good too and fits perfectly in my passenger seat in my van. It will sweat a bit of course, so I just put a tarp underneath it and a towel to absorb any moisture. This is really perfect for a one to 3 day outing for sure and I'm glad I decided to go with Igloo! ... show more

This is a nice cooler. I wanted a small cooler than can keep ice from melting too soon while on long car trips. The body and lid of the cooler are sturdy but the handle's pivoting arms are a bit wobbly. I don't want to be too rough or it could break. It's not one solid piece, but a middle bar and two arms. I can see how it could break if you run into something and the handle takes on most of the impact. It is heavier than a regular cooler. Having taken it on two long car trips, it does keep ice from melting faster. I filled it with drinks and 7 pounds of ice cubes. The ice lasted for about 3 days and it was all melted on the fourth day. ... show more

Have not been a fan of Igoo in the past, but this is the real deal, we tend to be rough on our camping things and this has held up well, keep things cold for a very long time, good value for the price.

I bought this because I needed a cooler that will keep my drinks cold in 100+ degree temperatures. Inside a vehicle that isn’t air conditioned during the hottest parts of the day. It does a good job of keeping my drinks cold long enough to finish a long hot day and frozen bottles and ice packs last longer than they would in a cheaper ice chest. However this isn’t a five day cooler. In my situation it’s a two day cooler. I’m disappointed that it doesn’t come with a gasket, and the rubber straps aren’t really very tight. It seems like it was designed for a rubber gasket, but later decided to leave it off. I might try to modify it with a gasket later to see if I can get five days of ice cold storage out of it. For the price it works well enough and brands that I have used which will keep cold five days are much more expensive. Lastly for the seller. It came promptly and well packaged, new condition, undamaged. The AR experience when shopping was close to accurate, and matched the dimensions in the listing. It was still a little bigger than I expected and I recommend using that AR experience thoroughly as you shop. Check it in your car, trunk, seats and storage area to get a better grasp on how it will fit into your vehicle and storage space. ... show more

    • No Gasket…There’s a Fix For That!

Super spacious interior - perfect for a couple on a week-long trip! There is no gasket to seal this cooler. As a result, it may not keep ice for 4 days as advertised. Normally, I’d take off a star for that but I found a really simple fix. Just use 2 plastic shopping bags placed flat, handles opposite each other and on top of one another on top of your cooler goods. Voila! Super seal and ice keeps for what seems like forever. The dry weight of this cooler does not overwhelm our older couple selves. Nice sturdy handle. Doesn’t cost a fortune. We don’t mind going around with our shopping bags sticking out! Great cooler.
