  • The best slider just got smaller and more portable! The best slider just got smaller and more portable!
Size: PICO Pro (400mm)
I've been a huge fan of iFootage products for a very long time. And when they released their first slider, I wasn't sure how they would do in the space. Then they came with the Nano II and I took the leap. That slider really re-defined my workflow for short video and multiple image shooting especially with the tight integration with DJI gimbals. Years later, they made the best, smaller. The Pico is the latest integrated solution between DJI and iFootage. You can drop an Osmo Pocket 3 or 4 right onto the device and boom! All the best parts of both with completely integrated control. I'm still waiting on my Pocket 4 (thank's for the delay old stupid people who hate progress at FCC) but until then I can use the included phone mount or action camera mount to do some similar work. Let me quickly explain my experience with the Pico Pro and why I think this should be a part of every creator's kit. First off, iFootage targeted this product at the creator that wants a smaller, lighter setup that can be taken on location but managed to pack in all the professional level performance that the previous sliders had into this smaller form factor. About 16" long, this comes with a travel pouch, and weighs very little. You can pack it up and take it to where you need it, indoors or outdoors with zero issue. Lots of metal construction here though will certainly help with durability and longevity as you lug it about. Second, easy of use has clearly been a part of the design considerations for this. You can set up an A to B path on the slider with pan motion and slide in about 10 seconds. Its that fast and that easy. You can mount this on nearly any flat surface but if you don't have one, drop it onto your favorite tripod or iFootage Monopod and its good to go. So easy to set up, and get going. Finally, lets talk a little about the performance. I've included one of the A-B transitions I spoke about. The video attached to this review took me about 10 seconds to set up and 16 seconds to shoot. I did ZERO edits to it so anyone can see exactly the performance and smoothness that this slider produces when in operation. Yes, of course you can smooth it a little more in post but this product is about fast, light, and mobile. The less you have to do in post, the better. Conclusion: Who is this for? Any content creator that uses a DJI pocket can make use of this. Anyone with an action camera can make use of this to create content, and finally, anyone with a phone can use this to create smooth and cinematic content for socials or even the run and gun films. Priced at under $300 as of this review, it delivers huge value for the dollar in production value. I think anyone who makes any media content can benefit from this. BONUS: I reached out to iFootage and they did confirm an add on product for this is coming soon. They are integrating a Tilt Gimbal that will allow you to control the tilt of your shot with the slider. This will be huge in my opinion, giving so much more shooting flexibility to this device. From iFootage: "We would like to inform you that the Tilt Gimbal is currently undergoing R&D and testing, with a tentative launch scheduled for June (exact date to be confirmed). The official release will be announced simultaneously on our official website, Amazon store, and other authorized platforms." So its a great product today and in a month or so from the this review, its going to get even better. Way to go iFootage! ... show more

  • Good for B cam interviews and product shots
Size: PICO Pro (400mm)
This is my first experience with a slider. I know IFOOTAGE is a trusted brand, so I was excited to try this out. I have an Insta360 X5, so I was not sure how much this would really add to my footage. But actually I really like the effect. I like using the lowest speeds. I find that it is very easy to set keyframes with the device controls. I am surprised by how solid the whole unit feels for as light and compact as it is. The legs that pop out do add to the stability, but unless you are using an 11" magic arm or something, it should be stable enough with or without them. All the basic functions of a slider are here, and the added function of a horizontal movement is what really sets this apart from a standard or non-powered slider. The app is great, and works well as a remote control for the slider. But I would have liked if there were a "ramping" option to control how soft the end of the movement loop is. Maybe this is a feature that will be added later. So in practical terms, you will be likely to use the footage you get during the movement, but not from the ends of the loops, as that is not a great effect in the edit. So with the 16" size, you are looking at scenarios like your phone as a B cam doing a super slow pan on an interview subject. Or small to medium product shots. The price point seems right for how smart and well-designed it is. And for the build quality and weight. This is a quality peice of kit and I like how utilitarian it is. Sometimes when things are too smart they just waste time while you are trying to navigate all the options. ... show more

  • Powerful and versatile slider from IFOOTAGE Powerful and versatile slider from IFOOTAGE
Size: PICO Pro (400mm)
I'm a big fan of IFOOTAGE lighting products, so I've been pleased to see them expand their offerings into other types of camera accessories. Their lights are all excellent and reasonably priced, so it's no surprise that this slider is as well. This is the type of accessory that would have been out of reach of all but professional photographers in the pre-digital era. High end performance is now accessible to anyone. The slider is extremely versatile and does a lot but remains extremely easy to use. Right out of the box, I was impressed with the build quality. It feels like a durable, well made product with an aluminum alloy construction. Also included is a charging cable and plug plus attachments that allow the slider to interface with just about any type of camera you can think of. I've tried it with my smartphones and action cams but it's definitely not limited to these--with a 3.3 lb/1.5 kg horizontal payload and a 1.76 lb/0.8kg vertical payload it can handle all but the largest consumer cameras. Despite this strength and durability it weighs just 1.8 pounds meaning you can take it anywhere. There are also mount points on the base of the device itself allowing you to attach it to a tripod. For added stability, you can use the pop out feet--just push a button on each end and you're ready to go. Wireless connectivity is quick and stable--the device supports Bluetooth and NFC. There are plenty of control options in the smartphone app as well as on board control buttons. Movement is smooth and silent. The battery charges quickly (2.5 hours) and lasts well over 5 hours. There will also be forthcoming accessories including a tilt gimbal and visual tracking module to further expand functionality. Very impressive and versatile device at a reasonable price point. IFOOTAGE has delivered a camera accessory that can do so much and in so many different use cases. Very highly recommended! ... show more

  • Compact slider for phones with useful rotation Compact slider for phones with useful rotation
Size: PICO Pro (400mm)
I think the iFootage Shark Slider Pico Pro stands out because there’s nothing else at this price point that offers motorized linear motion and a rotating axis for phones, action cams, and small mirrorless setups. The build quality seems solid for the category: metal frame, carbon‑fiber tubes, and a built‑in battery that can charge via PD. Before using it, I recommend reading the detailed manual or watching a how‑to video if you’re new to iFootage sliders. For example, if you want to manually set points using the physical controls, you need to first disengage the carriage by pressing the A/B and Play/Pause buttons at the same time. A dedicated unlock button would have made more sense. Motion is smooth, and the Pro version supports up to 3.3 lbs. I tested it with a GH5 II and a 12–35mm lens (about 2.4 lbs), and it handled it without issues, though I wouldn’t use that combo daily — this slider is clearly optimized for lighter rigs. It does produce some operational noise; it’s not loud, but you can hear it working when it’s moving or even just powered on. And while the lightweight design is convenient for tabletop use, it definitely needs a stable tripod to avoid tipping and carriage wobble. The iFootage Moco app is where the slider has the most functionality. It doesn’t require an account, is easy to learn, and lets you set more than two points, unlike the physical buttons. It also has a phone‑camera mode, although I didn’t like it — for example, selecting 24p resulted in 30p recordings. Overall, for creators using phones, action cams, or lightweight mirrorless cameras, this slider is worth a look. The rotating axis and app‑based multi‑point control let you get shots that would be difficult or impossible handheld. The quick‑release system, tiny LCD, and lack of a proper case hold it back a bit, but the core performance and feature set are strong for the price. ... show more

  • I’m getting pro results with this compact slider I’m getting pro results with this compact slider
Size: PICO Pro (400mm)
I’ve wanted a motorized slider for a long time to improve the quality of my videos, but most of them were priced out of my budget until I found the Pico Pro. It’s a great value and gives me most of the functionality I was looking for in larger, more expensive sliders. Since I shoot mostly with my iPhone, my Pocket 3 or an action cam, the payload capacity is perfect, and the results look cinematic. There’s a lot to love about this slider. It’s super lightweight and easy to travel with, and the 3/8” and 1/4‑20 mounts make it simple to attach to my tripods both vertically and horizontally. It also has built‑in retractable legs so I can just set it on my desk and get some amazing shots without needing any extra gear. Since I usually work in a pretty tight space on my desk, the slow, precise movements make a huge difference for close‑ups of the products I review. It makes my production value look like I’ve got a crew helping me, even though it’s just me in my home office. The motor is virtually silent, so even if I want to record audio while the slider is running, there’s no noise from the slider interfering with anything. It’s also pretty amazing how well it pairs with the Pocket 3. The slider movement and panning combined with the Pocket’s gimbal movement and subject tracking produce some incredible results. The build quality is excellent too and makes it feel like a real professional tool instead of a toy. I appreciate that the slider came with everything I needed to mount my phone and cameras, and setting up shots is super easy. At first, I was excited just to add basic A‑to‑B motion with some panning, which I could do manually right on the slider. But once I installed the app on my phone and connected to the slider via Bluetooth, I got even more professional results. The app lets me program movements from A through H, add multiple sliding directions, set up panning moves, adjust speed, add hold times, control total filming time, and more. This is a smart investment for any content creator or videographer who wants to improve their production quality. I’ve only used it for product reviews so far and I’m blown away by the results, but it would be great for filming weddings, real estate, performances, etc. It’s an outstanding product and very easy to recommend. ... show more

  • Impressive!
Size: PICO Pro (400mm)
This is an impressive piece of equipment. This is the 2nd ifootage item I have purchased, the other was a united, making my photobooth look cleaner and more professional. I got this for my Dad is 84. He made a 3D camera and a 3d viewer. (Fun side note - he used that 3D camera to take a picture of Reggie Jackson signing a Tshirt for me when I was kid and then the following year gave the viewer to Jackson to show him that 3D picture and so now has a picture of Reggie Jackson looking at a 3d picture of Reggie Jackson.) It's easy to use. It was very easy to set up, I didn't even look at the instructions. It is incredibly smooth and stable. Really I wanted him to be able to use it for panning mostly although this is also useful for time delay projects which he is also interested in buy will unlikely get around to. We take a big family trip to Yosemite each year and this is lightweight and portable enough for him to bring it along. Its helpful that has so many options for both camera and phones because he uses both. It probably does more than he will use it for, like programming movements, but he loves it for what he plans on using it for, which is family events and travel. Also the motor is quite which is important because he is using sound you don't want the sohnds of a motor in your video. Definitely a fan of the versatility, horizontal or vertical. Overall tbe functionality is impressive. This is absolutely a great value. So nice to have professional level equipment in our price range. ... show more

  • A well constructed, and designed photo/video slider A well constructed, and designed photo/video slider
Size: PICO Pro (400mm)
I have always loved gadgets, electronic toys that I could tinker with. So, when I saw this unit, I was very excited to get my little fingers on it. Even though the SHARK SLIDER PICO PRO is the smallest, and least expensive of the three, it still looked like it might be a challenge to operate. And, I was not disappointed. This unit is designed for smaller cameras like; a GoPro, cell phone, or a small compact camera. I actually mounted my SONY A6400, with a medium size lens on it, and it seem to work perfectly without any signs of stress. It has a payload weight of 3.3lbs. so I don’t think what I used exceeded that. Almost 16-inches overall length, its compact and most liked not meant for professionals. However, the design is all metal, giving it a sturdy base, with the addition of four stabilizing legs that pop out with the push of a couple of buttons on each side. The box comes with (in my minimum experience with these devices) what appears to be all the adapters, and mounts you could possibly need. It comes with a somewhat basic manual sheet in the box. I found that downloading the full manual from their website really gave me more descript directions to operate the slider. There is a USB-C power cord, and power block to charge the onboard battery, which is really nice because it then becomes very mobile on a full charge. There is also a protective pouch for the unit included. Once I examined the online manual, it was a lot easier to get this slider up and running. The controls are easy to access, and the slider responded with no issues. I used the basic mount, that has a secure lock for the camera plate. I operated it manually, but there are options to use a smart phone, or even a laptop connected by Bluetooth, or using the additional USB-C ports on the back. Needless to say, there is a learning curve with this slider, but it’s going to be fun doing so. Overall, I am really impressed with this device. It’s well made, and IFOOTAGE did not cut any corners with it. If you have a use for it, it is well worth the money, and I would recommend it. ... show more

  • Warning: faulty Bluetooth radio Warning: faulty Bluetooth radio
Size: PICO Pro (400mm)
As an aspiring videographer, I have to say incomplete honesty that this product was a huge disappointment, but also that there is an opportunity for the manufacturer to correct what went wrong. I was so excited to get this slider because of all the videos I had seen online demonstrating just how versatile it is with cameras like the osmo pocket 3. When I received the slider, found that all the manual functions worked just fine, but the real magic of this particular product is when you start to use it via the mobile app while connected to your phone and that is where my problems began. I was able to download the app and hook up my phone via Bluetooth but then realized that about every 10 seconds or so my phone and every other phone that I tried would disconnect from the Bluetooth of the slider. Within the app this had the effect of all settings being erased, making it completely unusable. I tried to update the firmware, which is done via Bluetooth, but found that this also did not work. You could literally see the little Bluetooth indicator on the slider. Turn on and off about every 10 seconds corresponding to when it would disconnect from any device connected to it. This meant that the slider was anything but easy to use and the software stability was just horrible. I reached out to the manufacturer for technical support and was then put through literal weeks of emails where they requested videos, photos, and eventually agreed to have me mail them the unit for inspection. I don't really have high hopes that the situation is going to be resolved as it already has not been resolved in a timely manner and has been anything but smooth. Because of all these reasons and the lack of basic functionality as advertised, I have to say that this really is not a good value for money compared to other options out there. If my situation is resolved and my unit repaired for its faulty Bluetooth radio, I will update this review. ... show more
