While on a European River cruise up the Danube recently, I noticed a neat under-counter, door mounted trash bag holder in the head. It had a frame to hold a plastic trash bag and had a hinged metal top that covered the bag when it was closed. It was exactly what I was looking for, for my bathroom at home! When I returned home,I did a diligent search of the internet over some weeks, and was unable to locate a device exactly like the one aboard our ship. However, I finally located the InterDesign Axis Over the Cabinet Waste/Storage Basket on Amazon.Com and it offered what looked like my best bet. I ordered one and as soon as it arrived, I hung it from the attached over-door hooks, and ... Voilá ... instant hidden trash receptacle! The pros: convenient, reasonable price, stainless steel is hygienically safe, attractive. The cons: size is just a shade too wide, end to end. When the cabinet door on which the basket is hung is opened, the inside corner of the basket catches on the edge of the other door, and to access the waste basket, both cabinet doors must be opened at the same time. Would I recommend buying one, you bet. Just be sure to check the exact dimensions of the door clearances to insure that your cabinet will accommodate this product. My probable solution to the size problem: I plan to order another InterDesign Axis Over the Cabinet Waste/Storage Basket, this time an InterDesign Axis Over the Cabinet X5 Basket (dimensions of the X5 model number 56270 of 5" x 11" x 9.8" compared to 7" x 12.2" x 14" for the model number 56770 I bought). The X5 does not extend as far into the under-counter space and isn't so wide as to hit the other cabinet door. Oh, and I plan to keep the original basket, for some other use down the road! Jim

The negative reviews on this are bizarre. You're buying a metal hanging basket from Amazon - you're getting exactly what its advertised as. I use mine for both yarn and my kitchen bags, not garbage and hang them on either (I bought two) side of a metal bookshelf that has bars that are perfect for the hooks on this. I bought it in 2018. I'm still using it. I'm not rough on it, it came in one piece, and I'll probably buy more. Its a basket, what more do you want?

This is my second purchase of this over-door basket. I bought one several years ago and this one is for a neighbor who saw mine and really liked it. It is my main kitchen garbage container on the inside of my cabinet door under the sink and has held up very well. It takes grocery bags or 4-gallon kitchen trash bags.

I really like how much space this trash can saves for me, though it had a few little issues that prevent me from giving it 5 stars. When it arrived, the brackets that hook it over a cabinet door were bent out of shape, and the metal is tough enough (a good thing) that bending them to the correct shape was pretty difficult. I also had a slight problem my own cabinet design that prevented it from working as I had desired, which I didn't notice before I ordered. If you intend to hang it on the cabinet door that hides your kitchen (or bathroom) sink, make sure that there is one of those fake drawer fronts that covers the underside of the sink. My cabinet does not have one, and the wire basket hit the bottom of the sink. I think this is fairly unusual, though (my cabinets are pretty awful and cheap). I ended up hanging the basket off a ledge on the inside of the utility closet door, which is fine but not ideal. It is fairly small, so if you like huge trash bins, don't bother. I rather like small ones because I like to take the trash out often so it doesn't smell too bad. I use tall kitchen bags in it because I have had some trouble finding smaller ones, but it does fit larger plastic grocery store bags well. I remember some reviewers didn't like how trash can get caught between the wires, but that has only happened once for me, and it wasn't any sort of insurmountable or annoying problem. That might differ depending on what kind of trash you generally throw away (I recycle most of my packaging trash so I don't throw away a lot of angular boxes, plastic, glass, etc.) Overall, I really like this trash can for saving me valuable floor space in my tiny galley kitchen.

Love this small basket. I use it for garbage. It hangs inside the door under the sink. I line it with single use plastic shopping bags (it gives the bags another use) and dispose if the garbage every evening. No need to buy garbage bags, no need to keep garbage for days in a large container or worry about odor etc. Yes, it’s small, but if needed, I can change the bag more than once a day! Soooo practical.

Well made, attractive design. Wish I knew more about the dimensions needed to make it work before I bought it. Yes, it can hang on the interior of my under sink kitchen cabinet. But the door won't close as it sticks out too far to clear the frame. Very disappointing. I did not send it back as we plan to gut the kitchen in a few months. Perhaps the new cabinets will be better.i took it to the master bath and hung it on the outside of a cabinet, replacing the trash can. Suggestion: I put a few empty plastic grocery bags in the bottom first. Then I put an open one in the basket. That saves me from having to find a bag every time I empty the trash. Just thought of another idea: put multiple grocery bags inside each other. Then put all into this trash can. As the first one fills, tie it shut and remove. The next bag is open and ready.

This trash can is a good size and handy. I think I will line mine with a thin cardboard box. Cut to fit. If too much is put in the can it pokes through the sides. Making it difficult to empty. Otherwise it's great!

This is very useable. I am in an RV , so floor space is at a premium. I hang this basket on the lower cabinet door in front if the kitchen sink. It holds a market plastic bag or bought trash bag. This has been so easy to use and has been perfect.
