I’ve put about 15 of these on LS Swaps. Allows you to relocate your knock sensors to the block. I don’t paint my engines, I clean them up. Shinny aluminum and black is my jam 👍🏼 Word to the wise, when using this valley cover, the gasket from Felpro is a 1/2” longer out the front. Works as it should for sure, but if that bothers you, make sure and get the ICT Kit with gasket or AC Delco or Mahle valley pan gasket as those are the same footprint as the plate. Look at the 1st picture, towards the throttle body.

I purchased a knock sensor relocations kit from ICT and if you have purchased items from ICT before you will see a pattern of their products being machined and a semi shiny surface but not mirror polished finishes like you would think and expect. So that being said I went the distance and used a DA sander with 220 grit and smoothed the surface out and went to 320 then 400....600....800 then I got up to.1000 and then went to 2000 with a sanding block in one direction lengthwise. From there I went to.3000 and 5000 again all by hand with a sanding block and after.that I goty.azon polishing wheel and polishing routes starting with brown tripoli then to green to cut.the surface then white to.mirror finish it. Now it looks like I wanted it to look. I plan on putting digital led light straps under my high rise intake manifold and required this plate to be a mirror to reflect the colored lights because as it was when it showed up it looked like a circular saw shaved the tip surface and you saw all the circular marks in it so that's why I had to start at the 120 and 220 grits to smooth and remove those machining marks. It is soft aluminum so only took about an hour or two to make it shine like a mirror with no distortion and the part is very well made. ICT does make very good high end products most of my polished items on my engine are ICT. Throttle cable bracket... valley plate ...knock se sor relocation brackets. 2 piece camshaft/timing chain cover....valve cover spacers/risers and water pump extension brackets so I trust they make really high quality items no question but their definition of "Polished" and my definition are worlds apart so each part and piece u have purchased from them goes through the exact same process as this valley pan did to become a mirror polished item but that's superficial... the quality of the parts they make are second to none. You pay a few bucks more over the imported knock off copy items and in some cases it does not matter much but the items that are front and center and to me require a full mirror polishing ICT makes a phenomenal product for a very fair price point in most cases. This valley pan was a super low price point and less than the polished imported ones. So I could pay less for a USA made billet aluminum product.... that's a Win. Win. Win in my book. 5 out of 5 stars and no complaints. Every hole was spot on correct...no filing of any holes to make a bolt fit in my LS1...... this did NOT come with a gasket but it did include the flat top Allen M8 1.25 bolts to torque it down... gasket is like 15 or 20 bucks I think so that is something to consider if your shopping prices for this alley pan product from other manufacturers...... I am very happy with all the items I have received from ICT and have no worries whatever I buy from them will fit very well and be a sturdy durable piece of hardware. Perfect fit adds a nice look the engine bay when it’s on would definitely recommend especially if you plan on getting rid of knock sensors on a gen 3 ls
