I wear this shirt more often than I do not. It's really my favorite. I can even wear this black t-shirt when the sun is out, because the merino wool helps to regulate the temperature. My only criticism is that if you use this as one of your main shirts, it will probably last only about 18 months before it starts to give out in places. Even at a weight of 220, there are some practical limitations to its longevity. It's very expensive for what it is, but with this shirt you're paying for comfort and performance. It can feel just a little itchy until after it's first or second wash, but after that the material will not irritate your skin at all.

One month user experience. Excellent function-wise. Not as smooth as cotton on skin but acceptable to me. Feel fairly durable. Stitching is above average and at expectation for an item at this cost.

I am revising this review as my opinion of this product has changed substantially. Back when I first purchased Icebreaker products some years ago, they not only felt amazing to wear, but were also very durable and outperformed everything on the market. They stood up to everything you threw at them. Well, not anymore! After washing this shirt only once and letting it air dry on a hanger, it’s covered in loose lint and dust bunnies. It looks like it’s several years old. It’s so disappointing! My previous Icebreaker shirts always maintained a “sheen” to the material outside and inside. This thing looks like a rag after only one wash in the gentle cycle. It’s going back along with the others. Huge disappointment!!!

I am right in between a Large and XL. The XL fits me perfectly. These shirts are expensive, but you get what you pay for. Very comfortable and snug for a base layer without being too tight. Hope they get more colors
