I suppose this handy, portable VKVKYET tub can be used for hot or cold plunges, or even bathing while camping or disaster situations, but I got this one to try out the NOT so new theory that plunging one’s body into icy, cold water boosts the immune system and heals muscle strain faster than anything else. Well, I figured that since I have any number of physical and mental maladies going at once, the cold water plunge should sufficiently shock my system, or at least momentarily distract my mind from thinking about the pain I’m usually in. I assembled the folded up vinyl, cotton, and waterproof PVC five layer tub quite easily in just a few minutes with its included support rods and detachable feet, and filled it with a garden hose that I snaked in through a window. I couldn’t do this plunge outside because I have no yard, just a driveway on a busy street, and I didn’t want the neighbors calling the cops on me when I dipped my bloated unclothed body into the thing. Plus, if it toppled over during my inaugural plunge, I’d be halfway in and out of the thing struggling to stand up in a puddle of ice and water like a big, fat, sad, white snail partially ejected from its shell. I’d never live that humiliation down, especially with an indecent exposure charge to go along with it. So, I put two five pound bags of ice in it and filled it about 75 percent of the way full. I checked the tap style plastic drain to make sure it was closed and inflated the upper ring with the included hand pump. After it filled, I was off to the races. I’m not very tall and the tub was able to fit my globular body okay, but I’m not so sure that a person over 6’6” could fit or do anything but stand up in this tub, though it is advertised to handle up to 6’7” frames. The cold plunge thing was just as I imagined it would be. In a couple of words, it worked. It worked to distract my thoughts about my pain… or anything else… except not freezing to death like Jack in Titanic. The shocking cold wasn’t so bad once I got used to it, but as far as any health benefits go, I think I have to do this several times a week to notice. If you do this plunge thing once in a while, that might just be considered some form of torture, but hey, some people swear by this method, so who am I to disagree? I read the book “Back To Eden” by Jethro Kloss about thirty years ago, and in that great and very useful book written in 1939, Kloss says to finish your daily bathing ritual by means of either a quick ice cold shower (if you have one of those newfangled, modern, indoor showers), or by having buckets of cold water thrown on you (by ranch hands if you don’t). He claimed it would benefit the heart, immune system, joints and mental alertness, and that was written 85 years ago. As far as the tub itself goes, it seems durable and well made enough to do the cold plunge fairly often, so I can recommend getting this one if ice baths are something you want to try. It comes with everything you need to get started including a carrying bag, pump, and a pair of lids that will keep debris out of your tub. They suggest changing the water every 10 days, and washing the interior before refilling. I’d say give it a try with a cold shower, or by having ranch hands throw buckets of ice water on you first, then if you decide to work ice plunges into your routine, this VKVKYET tub is a very good choice.

I have been doing ice baths in my tub and I felt like I wasn't getting the full effect of it as I wasn't able to submerge properly in my tub. With this I was able to get fully submerged and get the full benefits of an ice bath. I was a little tricky setting up but figured it out and got it up. The head rest part and the inner tube part were the trickest getting it filled and circular. It holds up great and sturdy. Came with patches for repairs and a hand pump to blow up along with a travel/storage bag which is great.

I picked this up and inflated it. Set up was easy and it feels pretty durable. I tried it out and I fit in no problem. Muscle aches felt much better afterwards. I dried it out and packed it up but I plan on using it after workouts if I get any strain. I picked up a 2nd one and stored it with my storm prep gear. I went through hurricane Katrina and we didn't have water for about a month. If we get another bad storm this will be perfect for bathing.

It is small and could be a bit difficult to fit your whole body in it. It does blow up easily and is very portable. Could be good for away games or traveling. It is worth the price.

if you train as hard as me then this is bonus to your regime. this thing really heals me 10x faster while using irish seamoss. every athlete need this, its durable, safe and sturdy for most body types

My teenager is in lots of sports and has used an ice bath at school as part of the sports program with the athletic trainer. This is the perfect way to incorporate that element to off-season training at home! I don't think it'll last forever, but it seems sturdy enough for at least a few seasons.
