  • Does the job well
Pattern Name: for Copper Pipe
I got this for emergency repairs. I got a 1/2 price used version but waited a month. Worth it to be able to do repairs on wet pipes or areas where a torch is not advisable. Also, ProPress fittings are much cheaper and more robust than Sharkbites. Tho heavy and awkward, the force needed is reasonable. ... show more

  • Pipe Crimping Tool Must Buy!!
Pattern Name: for Copper Pipe
This pipe crimping tool was great and fixed my plumbing issues without having to spend the quoted $1,500. It was easy to use and saved me a lot of money. Highly recommend!

  • Wow, this was easy
Pattern Name: for Copper Pipe
I just purchased this and used it to install a hot water heater. Since this was a different type of water heater there were a lot of moving the pipes to new locations and a lot of new connections and this device made it so simple, quick and easy. I love it. I hate sweating pipes and this removed that as an issue. I did have to go back and repress one connection but no big deal, I probably didn't press hard enough the first time. This is so much a time/money saver. Two notes - the manual needs a better English proof reader as it obviously was not written by someone who knows English. Also, the manual says to replace the hydraulic oil once a year - really? Also, if you go this way for connecting pipes remember that the fittings are much more expensive that regular copper fittings - but that is not the fault of this device. I will also note to buy the fittings on-line as in store there is a huge markup. Finally, buy this, it is well made, very substantial, and gets the job done well. Buying it only cost me a few dollars more than renting it at the local HD so go and buy this. I love it! ... show more

  • Tough for tight spots but works well otherwise
Pattern Name: for Copper Pipe,F877 and F1807 Pex
Just used for the first time to redo my house filter valves and bypass. Works good but its heavy and hard to keep from rotating the fittings while pumping it. Also, the head on it is bulky and had a hard time getting it on the T-fitting. Had to grind down a couple spots on the tool to fit where it contacted the ribs. Otherwise it works well ... show more

  • Worth every penny, but have some tradeoffs
Pattern Name: for Copper Pipe
The tool is awesome, but be aware: if you have a tight space or lot of tee-s you might have an issue. I was able to replace existing plumbing, but had a snag on the first tee. Tee can be crimped ONLY in one specific position, when the long part of the tee goes in parallel with the tool. It makes a job a little bit trickier, so I had to assemble some parts of the line on the ground, and because of this had a couple of wasted fittings. I will probably return this tool but only to get a newer thinner version of it. Also note, that tool opens from one side only, this is where it may create issues in forked branches or tight spaces. I’m happy with result, but would like the tool even more if I read reviews before buying. Will see how the line holds up. ... show more

  • Never have to sweat copper again
Pattern Name: for Copper Pipe
Perfect for the DIY. Used it to install Several press copper connectors and a ball valve. Work perfectly. It is a pretty beefy tool. But still fits into relatively tight locations. It is kind of heavy so when using overhead can tax the arms a little bit but not a big deal. Considering a cordless version of this tool is in the neighborhood of eight or $1000 at this Price point it's an awesome alternative for something you only have to do a couple times a year. It seems to be made very very well. If you have to call a plumber to do a simple repair this pays for it self on the first use. And, no chance of burning your house down. Comes in a nice case as well. also a kit of spare parts, o rings etc. ... show more

  • Will not press tees.
Pattern Name: for Copper Pipe
Works great for straight connections, 45° elbows and 90° elbows. Not so much tees. The head interferes with tee fittings, at least the tee fittings I was trying to use.

  • IboHappy
Pattern Name: for Copper Pipe
I had to remove an aging saddle valve after rerouting the water supply to my refrigerator. After cutting the pipe and cleaning up the cut edges I centered a viega no stop coupling over the cut in the pipe and used the tool. Worked perfectly. Despite somewhat tight quarters, I had enough room for the tool. I found it easier to rotate the tool head 90 degrees relative to the handle. The effort is minimal until the last few strokes of the handle and then a bit of effort is required. Worth every penny to avoid calling a plumber or having to learn to solder on a wet pipe. Yes, I could have used a push on coupling but wanted the added security of pro-press. The tool is well made and satisfying to use. I expect to use it again as the need arises for myself or friends/ neighbors. ... show more
