  • Wow, this was easy
Pattern Name: for Copper Pipe
I just purchased this and used it to install a hot water heater. Since this was a different type of water heater there were a lot of moving the pipes to new locations and a lot of new connections and this device made it so simple, quick and easy. I love it. I hate sweating pipes and this removed that as an issue. I did have to go back and repress one connection but no big deal, I probably didn't press hard enough the first time. This is so much a time/money saver. Two notes - the manual needs a better English proof reader as it obviously was not written by someone who knows English. Also, the manual says to replace the hydraulic oil once a year - really? Also, if you go this way for connecting pipes remember that the fittings are much more expensive that regular copper fittings - but that is not the fault of this device. I will also note to buy the fittings on-line as in store there is a huge markup. Finally, buy this, it is well made, very substantial, and gets the job done well. Buying it only cost me a few dollars more than renting it at the local HD so go and buy this. I love it! ... show more

  • Does the job and does it well
Pattern Name: for Copper Pipe,F877 and F1807 Pex
I gotta say I am impressed with the way this pro-press functions. I watched a bunch of videos and reviews before biting the bullet and buying it and was pleasantly surprised. Especially at this price point. Sure it's a manual crank but it's not bad at all. Once I got the hang of it I got moving pretty quick. My only concern with the tool is the size of the upper portion of the pro press. It's a little thick so if you have one of those copper pro-press Ts from Home Depot, good luck. You can press the sides with no issues but the part that Ts off is so close that you can't really squeeze in there. That's where my other pro-press shines. That and very tight spaces. With this tool being a little bulky, it's not that easy to work with if you don't have a lot of room. I love the fact that this can press both PEX and copper/brass. Been several months now using it. Haven't had any leaks yet. Fingers crossed it stays that way. ... show more

  • Manual, affordable version of what plumbers are using, nice tool for a diy-er
Pattern Name: for Copper Pipe
I used this to replace a collection of bad valves and connections in my basement, and appreciate this option over sharkbite or pex where you lose a bit of pipe diameter and have critical components made of plastic. The hydraulic crimp was straightforward, thought does require some muscles. I would highly advise dry fitting everything, using a sharpie to mark where fittings should sit, and strategically doing what you can on the floor before working above your head or in a tight spot on the final connections. I'm giving a 4 instead of 5, even though I'd highly recommend the tool for two reasons. (1) As many others have expressed, it is very difficult, though not impossible to crimp all parts of a T. I was using 3/4" copper, and with difficulty got central connection crimped. I suspect that this would be much more difficult with 1/2". The issue arises from the bulk of the crimping head, which has trouble fitting against the other part of the T and correctly on the central connection. I managed and it is not leaking, though I don't think I would have if I hadn't done this first and in isolation. (2) This is a issue with all propress as compared to sharkbite or sweated fittings. You can't remove these and reuse the pipe inside (or the fitting), the crimp does enough to deform the outside that I would only be willing to cut and replace a section. All in all though, this saved me at least $1000 in chasing down a clog in a pipe, and so has already paid for itself ... show more

Product is easy to use, cost effective and gets the job done easily/quickly. If you only have a few pipes to do this will meet your needs.

  • Absolutely Awesome!!!
Pattern Name: for Copper Pipe
I am not a DIY'er; I am a Professional Plumber. I have thought about getting the battery-powered units, but the thought of spending thousands just wasn't sitting well with me. If you do a ton of pro-press, maybe you should get the powered pack. But if you are like me and only need an occasional pressed fitting, this is the one! ... show more

  • This tool is awesome
Pattern Name: for Copper Pipe
When used properly this tool works flawlessly. I bought it for a home renovation product which required about 50 press connections both 1/2 and 3/4. Not one leak on any of the connections. Things I recommend, 1. Make sure the o rings are in the fitting, 2. Give the pipe a light brush to make sure it’s clean, 3. Make sure pipe is completely duburred inside and out, 4. Press only until the jaws close completey do not over press, 5. Inspect every press for a nice hex press all the way around the fitting. 6. Do not rush take your time with every press making sure the pipe is all the way in the fitting and seated properly in the press. I insert the pipe into the fitting and mark with a marker so when I pressed I could see if the pipe moved. I have not pressed any tee fittings yet but will update the review when I do. ... show more

  • Doesn't work on Viega 1/2" and 3/4" T, haven't test 1" ! 🤔
Pattern Name: for Copper Pipe
Will NOT WORK ON Viega 1/2" and 3/4" T fitting, been using it for over a year a few time, did get a chance to crimp T fitting, now confirmed it DIDN'T WORK on Viega T, also I wish Ibosad would make the 1/2" DIE crimping EDGE a little closer to the CENTER, SO it'll crimp both side, instead it ONLY crimp 1 and a half side! 🤔 Don't understand how and who designed it! Other wise it would be a 5 🌟! ... show more

  • It is a DIYer,s machine
Pattern Name: for Copper Pipe
This is perfect for the DIY type of job. I used it yesterday on a small job at the house. I enjoyed not have to fire up the old torch, clean the pipe perfectly, flux to whole joint, and try not to burn down the house. I used one of the propress fittings, prepared the pipe, followed the directions, and the job took about 2 minutes. Clean, fast, and efficient. The only down side for this tool is it takes a minute or two to pump it up and crimp each joint. If I was a plumber I would purchase the $1000 + electric crimper, but machine is perfect for the DIY person. ... show more
