  • The only dry food for me
Style: Healthy Senior Flavor Name: Chicken Size: 7 lb.
I really enjoy this cat food! It's the one for me! When my bowl becomes low i make it a priority to let the authorities know that they are neglecting their duties, even if it is in the middle of the night. They have tried to restrict my eating habita to several portions daily, but I must have had a scarce food situation earlier in life, and prefer to always know a snack will be available when I'm hungry. This dry food is often preferred to canned food, it is that addictive. I waited patiently for the Amazon delivery person to arrive with my lunch as I was out since 6 am. They were on time. I borrowed my human's distraction device to write this review. ... show more

  • I wish i had picturs of my wifes cat before and after
Style: Healthy Senior Flavor Name: Chicken Size: 16 lb.
I'm not a cat person but it came with the marriage. The cat is about 14 years old so I figured it probably only have a year or so left as it looked like it had a major hitch in its Getty-up . We started feeding it the lively senior summer 2017 and with in a month the cat literally was running around and looks 5 years younger. The cat (Kitty) is still going strong and is right at 17 years old. I don't know what's in the food but if you have an older can and want to keep it around for another stinking 5 years I would go with the Lively Senior. ... show more

  • Believe the Reviews!!
Style: Healthy Senior Flavor Name: Chicken Size: 16 lb.
My boyfriend and I adopted a cat that the humane society said was 10 years old, but our vet told us was likely closer to 15. He only has 3 teeth, so we were feeding him wet food exclusively, but he was acting hungry all the time even though we were feeding him at least 3 times a day. I ordered him this food and he LOVES it. Even with his 3 teeth, he happily munches if down and actually prefers it to wet food. He was a little underweight, but has filled out nicely since being on the iams and has a lot more energy! Would 100% recommend for any senior cat. ... show more

  • Great for our senior felines!
Style: Healthy Senior Flavor Name: Chicken Size: 16 lb.
My 12 year old Maine Coon was slowing down noticeably. Couldn't jump up to his favorite shelf or the bed. A couple weeks after I started feeding him this food I noticed a big difference. It's been 2 months now and he's pretty much back to his old bratty self.

  • Cat's coat improved dramatically within one 7lb bag
Style: Healthy Senior Flavor Name: Chicken Size: 16 lb.
We've fed our cats inexpensive, but popular branded cat food for their entire lives. They're now over 10 years old. My wife suggested we feed them some better food due to their age. I didn't think much of it and thought we'd give it a shot since they had been throwing up once in a while and we don't give them hairball treatments. One cat had a fairly large bald spot in its belly area as well. Within one 7lb bag per cat, the bald spot had grown back, their coats were very noticeably softer, and they shed drastically less than before. I am thoroughly impressed! The Healthy Senior food is just under double the price we were paying for the other brand, and I think it's well worth it. It seems they have some more energy than they used to as well. ... show more

  • JUST WHAT MY SENIOR CAT NEEDED!
Style: Healthy Senior Flavor Name: Chicken Size: 3.5 lb.
My cat will be 16 in May, and a few months ago he stopped eating his kibble. I had two different kinds out, and he had eaten them for years, so I thought he had stopped eating it because he was old and perhaps his teeth hurt. He was still eating the Turkey baby food and soft food and treats I gave, so I knew the kibble was the problem, not his appetite, and I figured it was inevitable that he’d stop eating kibble due to his age. I wanted to be sure, however, so I started researching the best kibble for senior cats. I settled on this one based on other reviews. I had never fed my animals Iams before (to be honest, I always bought them the really expensive “better” stuff), and I thought this would be a “softer” kibble, easier on his teeth. When it arrived, I was disappointed that it didn’t feel any softer than his other kibble, but I gave it a try anyway. He took to the food immediately, devouring it. Wow!! I was so shocked and elated. I was equally upset when he vomited and had soft stools later that day—I had changed his food in the past but had never had to change to new food slowly, he had always just taken to it. But I could tell he loved this food, and I knew he hadn’t eaten kibble in months, and based on how much he had eaten, I thought for the first time in this petite 8-pounder’s life, he had overeaten and made himself sick. So I took the kibble up for two days, offering other foods, and then SLOWLY reintroduced this over a period of a couple days. Now, he eats like a champ. He seems so much happier, and he’s filling out again, putting on the weight he had started to lose from not eating kibble anymore. He no longer scarfs down his soft food and begs for treats all day, because he prefers his kibble. I’m so happy! ... show more

  • Quite good food
Style: Healthy Senior Flavor Name: Chicken Size: 16 lb.
I have 4 cats, two under 11 years of age, 2 over. After reading up on old cat food for younger cats, and being reassured that this would not harm their health, I tried it, as I gear their feeding to the older cats who need the specialized diet. All of them, old and younger (youngest is 6) have been doing beautifully on this food. Their weight is stable, no urinary tract problems as with some foods, they like it, and no regurgitating food. It seems to be satisfying the requirements of both the younger and older cats (oldest is 14). I'm aware this is not one of the highest rated foods as far as ingredients, but the cats really are doing well on it, and eating happily. I'm very pleased. Oh, and whatever the ingredients that make a difference as far as their coats, the coats look sleek and dense on it. , ... show more

  • My cat likes it
Style: Healthy Senior Flavor Name: Chicken Size: 3.5 lb.
I found this type of food in an article after searching “food for very selective senior/elderly cats”. When my kitty began refusing almost every kind of food I could find (mostly wet foods), and losing weight, I was very concerned and upset. I did exhaustive research. I spent a LOT of money. Some foods proved edible for him, some didn’t; this particular brand/type was a success! I’d recommend it. Unlike the dry food I typically give him, this stuff lasts a while. His typical dry food has to remain sealed and air tight at all times (unless in his bowl) otherwise it dries out and once that happens he’s not touching it. I was happy about the fact that this food doesn’t perish quickly and is affordable. Great combination. They ask for a star rating for flavor?! Wtf is that about?! Am I expected to taste it, or just ask my cat for a review of the flavor profile?. ... show more
