It's IAMS, which my cats tell me is a good brand of pet food. They also tell me they prefer this flavor. I don't know if I should believe anything they tell me since neither one has confessed to clawing and ruining my sofa. They told me a stray broke into the house, clawed the sofa, spilled thier water dish, knocked cereal boxes off the pantry shelf, kicked kitty litter all over the floor near their litter box, then left before I got home. We have three cats. All of them large, but old. Over the past four years our cats have loved this food and stayed healthy. I can't speak for the flavor, and none of the cats login or type. So I cannot vouch for taste. I can say the smell is not offensive or loud, either in the bowl, or ... later in the sandbox. While it could always be cheaper, and "shrink-flation" may yet effect Iams products, ... for now, the food is going down just as it is supposed to go, just great. I have bought the chicken flavor for about a year now, no issues. Well the food bin was running low and I needed to buy some more but as of right now it would take about a month to get the chicken flavor. So I opted for salmon for the first time. I saw some reviews where there was bones in the food but I took my chances thinking it was just a bad batch. There's a lot of bones in the one I ordered. I will have to sort through it when I give her a bowl to make sure none or poking out that could hurt her. 4 stars for now, since this brand has never done me bad until now, will adjust after she finishes this bag and I can evaluate how much bone to food ratio there is. ... show more

The flavor must be good because all three of my cats like it. I haven’t tried it myself so I’ll have to take their eating habits as a yes on flavor. I like that it doesn’t have an overwhelming smell. I can leave food in the dish for them to eat when they want and my house doesn’t smell like cat food. I also like having this set up as a subscription to arrive every few months. At times during the pandemic my local stores have experienced cat food shortages. I don’t want to worry about that. ... show more

I've bought 10 22 lb bags of the basic Iams in orange bag from Amazon over the past several years. I have two cats, one 5-year-old male 16 lbs, and one 3-year-old female, 9 lbs. They like the food, both are healthy and trim. I've also fed them the Iams in the blue bag, the weight control variety, but both are outdoors part time and they don't need weight control and I figure they don't like it as much as the basic. I don't think I've ever paid over $30 for the 22 lb size. I always keep it in my "Saved Items" and watch for price reductions or discount coupons, which occur frequently. As soon as I see a significant price reduction or coupon, I will order a bag. I don't have meal times for my cats. I just keep a large bowl filled with Iams at all times for them to eat when they get hungry. Neither cat is food obsessed, they only eat when they are hungry. Both of my cats are slim, athletic and active, able to leap on top of my 6 foot fence with ease. A 22 lb bag lasts about 2 months. ... show more

My cats love this food, they won't touch any other food. It's a good quality food for the money. Sure you can find better for more money but you will go broke paying for it. This food is a good compromise between quality and cost. I've been buying this food for my cats for decades. Now for the bad news . I just cancelled my subscribe and save subscription from Amazon because they couldn't have it in stock for their own subscription service. So if need this food on a schedule like I do you can't depend on Amazon to do it. So now I get it from their competition Chewy. ... show more
