I definitely recommend this book. I bought it for my grandson for Christmas. At roughly 15-16 months he was not saying any words yet and he was super frustrated. He would sometimes bite people when they didn't understand what he wanted. My daughter and her husband started frequently reading this book and a sign language book to him. He learned to say mama and kiss mama just like the book said. :) His parents read the book to him so frequently that he knew what was coming on the next page. I love the fact that the pages have pictures of real people on them. This book and a sign language book both really helped him learn to communicate before he was speaking words. This book, along with the I Can Say Dada book by the same author, has had tangible effects on my toddler! He was a little delayed in his speech, and these books truly made a difference. He started to say the words in them when we would read with him every day. As an elementary teacher, I know the absolute necessity of reading to your child and providing a language-rich environment, and these books help contribute to that. I also appreciate that the photos show decent diversity, although I did notice that almost all of the moms are not carrying any residual baby weight, but instead are fit (similar to the Dada book). Great book to read to our kiddos. Simple sentences with rhyming/ sing song type make it an easy read. Simple photos without a lot of other things on the page help keep it organized for kids to not become overstimulated

I liked that this is a sturdy book good for small hands. It has colorful photos of mamas and their babies. I took off a star because in the spot where you can put a photo there is no plastic sleeve or inserts to hold foto. I had to tape the photo to the book.

This book is amazing. Your babies and little kids will love reading this book. Its’ simplicity and the familiarity of the topics builds their confidence. The sounds are easy to make and the pictures go along well with the topic. My child started reading and pronouncing the letters in the word MAMA on other items like a sweatshirt on her own due to the reinforcement. I’d recommend getting this book as soon as your baby can say MAMA and the others too! (Like the DADA book) ... show more
