First ingredient is chicken second ingredient is chicken meal and turkey meal overall good quality my cat loves the taste of it. Texture is crunchy small kibbles perfect for smaller cats. No strong odor my cat transition to it just fine with no problems with digestion. kibbles are brown and very small easy to digest ingredients it’s advertised as chicken and duck, but duck is very far down on the ingredient list, so there may be very small amounts of duck. it’s mainly chicken. ... show more

When we adopted our 4 year old, he came with the name Big Boy from the shelter because of his muscular and overweight size. The big bags of kibble from the store are cost-effective and seem great until you really learn how to read the labels (sawdust Purina Naturals?) Our cats are our family, and as we transition from fast-food and microwave meals so did our cats to I and Love and You chicken kibble. I’m not thrilled with the vegetable additives in it but the cost/ingredients ratio makes this perfect for our cats. This product is the perfect entry level kibble for healthier cats. We’ve been on this kibble for one year now (minus one hiccup we had to revert to a cheaper kibble) and I promise there is a difference in behavior. Transitioning to I and Love and You, we noticed our 4 year old is so much more active, both in playing with us and our 1 year old kitten. Our “Big Boy” is just muscular now (so much so that we want to get his weight-loss checked, just in case) and our kitten is lean as well. Despite that we free-feed, the cats eat less without the carb overload, so the smaller portion lasts as long as the cheap, bigger bags. I definitely recommend! ... show more

    • My cats' favorite food

I love how small the kibble pieces are. It doesn't feel oily either. It doesn't smell bad, it doesn't feel bad. It looks nice. My cats will literally beg me for this food. If their food bowls are even slightly empty they start crying to me and leading me to their bowls because they want more kibble. They free feed and even if they won't immediately eat it when the bowl is full they can not stand the idea of that bowl being empty. This is literally they're favorite food. I have to buy several bags a month just to make them happy. The small bags are really easy to pour too. I like that they seal shut again to preserve the freshness. I also wanted to point out that literally after the first few feedings my cats became a lot shinier and softer compared to when I was feeding them pure balance. The hunger strikes immediately stopped they literally tried to tear this bag open before I could even pour it the first time I introduced it to them. I could barely even get this food into a bowl for them they went ballistic. They became a chorus of little maos and literally harmonized at me for this. They acted like I had opened a can of wet food for this. THEY NEVER DO THAT FOR DRY FOOD OK. I was shook. I'd never seen them react like this to a dry food brand before. Ever since that day i've just been buying this brand of food. It's just easier to deal with in the long run. Not only that but they're barfing way less now. The other brands of food I guess randomly changed the recipe because suddenly my cats would start barfing the food up and hunger striking. I went through so many different brands, Taste of the Wild, Kirkland, Chewy's brand, Rachel Ray, Pure Balance. They'd eat it for a little while then suddenly they'd all start getting sick or having diarhea and hunger striking. This food however we've had zero problems with it. No kitty runs, no upset tummies. I barely had to do any transitional because they took to it so well to the point they would literally leave the pure balance behind in the bowl and only eat the new kibble which was the I and Love and You brand. While I wish there were more flavor options they absolutely love this chicken flavor! I plan to keep buying this for as long as I can. As long as the recipe stays the same my cats will likely be pretty happy with it. I'm pretty sure if I changed brands my cats would likely beat me up for the insurance money to buy more of this food. ... show more

My cats hated this food with a passion. I tried to give them what I thought was a healthier option they said NO! So I gave it to the non-picky stray cats & wild raccoon who ate it until it was gone. Too expensive to buy for strays & wild trash pandas but at least it didn’t go to waste.
