Description

The Hypnotic Gems hand packed Extraordinary Mix from Madagascar includes at least 24-26 different stone types in every single bag giving this mix the best variety of any Madagascar rough stone mix on the market today! Hypnotic Gems makes up these bags by adding one stone at a time right here in the USA to guarantee at least 24-26 material types are in every single bag. You aren't taking a random chance at hopefully getting large variety since each bag includes a minimum of 24-26 stone types every time! In every bag you may receive: Amazonite, Amethyst, Neon Blue Apatite, Green Opal, Indigo Gabbro, Sea Jasper, Agate, Blue Calcite, Carnelian, Chestnut Jasper, Chrysocolla, Crocodile Jasper, Clear Quartz, Desert Jasper, Epidote in Matrix, Fire Quartz, Girasol, Hematite, Labradorite, Orange Calcite, Petrified Wood, Rhodonite, Rose Quartz, Septarian, Yellow Jasper and Zebradorite! For some materials you may receive more than one piece to equal the total weight purchased. The material Hypnotic Gems uses aren't just scrap stones but are quality mined stones from specific veins. To save on costs other manufacturers just use whatever scraps are laying around and it is possible to get a lot of dull stones. With the Hypnotic Gems hand bagging production line, you will only receive quality stones which are perfect for tumbling, cabbing, metaphysical, decorations, crafts and any other purpose which is limited only by your imagination! Please note that these are natural earth mined stones and every piece of material is unique. All pieces received will not be the exact same size, shape, color or look identical to our images. What we do guarantee is that every piece will be spectacular and contain a strong positive energy that can only be found in the Hypnotic Gems brand of stones.

  • Gorgeous stones at a great price, excellent buy
Size: #C: 3 Pound Lot Color: #A: Superior 17 Stone Mix
These are some beautiful and special stones. I've been trying to expand my collection and decided some of these 'mixed bag' orders would be more economical than ordering an entire pound or half pound of a type that I'm interested in. While I do really prefer to pick each stone out by hand to find one that calls to me I don't have the opportunity to get some of these types nearby and it can definitely get expensive to buy one by one. When I received them my order was a bit messed up. There was no amethyst, there were extras of many types and not as many of others. Since the description said exactly what and how many of each I would receive this was the order I decided to make first and I was a little disappointed. I contacted the seller from Hypnotic Gems and he immediately shipped me out a new order directly from their warehouse and everything was exactly as specified, each stone was accounted for. There are some real beauties in each separate order but I really feel the one directly from the warehouse had the best, which might just be luck of the draw (my initial order was Prime.) The neon Apatite is breathtaking and there were a couple Amazonites mixed with something that may either be mica or pyrite that are unique and special. There is one labradorite with really nice labradorescence, one with a few flashes and one with only a very tiny amount. After seeing two orders of the same mix I noticed a trend that you receive at least one stunning example of certain stones and a few of varying degrees of diminishing brilliance (probably to assure everyone gets a fair order.) I really have a hard time distinguishing between the clear Quartz and the girasol, I did receive one very interesting Quartz (or girasol?) that has some fine layers of green inside on one corner. I wish I knew what it was, I want to know everything about each and every stone, they are amazing in both look, feel and vibration. Note: I do not like to have to ask for corrections on an order but I was thankful the seller was eager to fix the issue with zero hassle, so I already ended up ordering more types of stones due to the company's integrity and the great quality of the product. Good customer service pays off! This is a really nice mix at a great price, this and their 3lb Asia stone mix are probably the best starters in my opinion because you get a good variety at excellent prices. The brilliance really does come out when most of these are wet and some are just as pretty dry. I took another reviewer's advice and put a tiny amount of oil on some of them to really bring out the color for display. *Photos show my original order and the replacement order, second order wet, examples from order one and two side by side for comparison and the remaining photos are some of the standout stones. ... show more

  • Disappointed! Mix Does NOT Include 26 Varieties of Stone
Size: #B: 2 Pound Lot Color: #B: Extraordinary 26 Stone Mix
Good luck if you purchase this for mineral specimens. The description reads, "Every bag has a gigantic variety with a whopping 26-28 different Madagascar Stone Types." That's just not true in terms of what I received. I ordered two pounds, to increase my chances of getting usable specimens for each type. That's not what happened. I'm quite disappointed, because I read this and believed it: "Hypnotic Gems packages each bag one stone at a time in their USA warehouse. The stones are not random but are a hand selected consistent assortment which guarantees a perfect blend and variety with every bag ordered!" This description made me think there were 26 bins of rocks/minerals and a person was hand packing each 1-pound bag with one of each type. I received two 1-pound bags that were very different and neither included all the stones. Together, between the bags, I only counted 18 varieties. One bag had a lot of kambaba jasper (3 pieces) and the other bag had 0 pieces. One bag had 3 pieces of amazonite and the other bag had 2. I don't need that much and would gladly have traded several for just one piece of petrified wood. Or chrysocolla. Or Rhodonite!!! or Fire Quartz! Or Indigo Gabbro. Or Epidote in Matrix! Or Blue Quartz! I have now read a review that indicates the shipping, at least, is handled by Amazon. Maybe the packing, too? But there should be some way to increase quality control. The bags of rocks were shipped with two other bags I ordered, all together packed tightly into a Priority Mail square box. There was brown paper on the top and bottom to keep the bags from shifting, but I think the stones-on-stones action may have contributed to the pieces of broken opal in the bottom of the bags. Maybe wrapping the bags separately (even in paper, not bubble wrap) would have been helpful. On the positive side, the shipping was timely and there was no problem with delivery. The size of the pieces are very good for specimens (all at least 1" ). The Kambaba (Crocodile) Jasper showed distinct patterning and was a good inclusion. Since I'm not going to use for tumbling, I didn't need as much yellow Jasper or Chestnut Jasper, but if you tumble rocks they would probably turn out well. The pieces of Septarian Nodules were easy to identify and showed great fluorescence. ... show more

  • Not labeled but AMAZING
Size: #B: 2 Pound Lot Color: #B: Extraordinary 26 Stone Mix
Okay soooo let me start with... buyers you must allow your crystals to soak overnight. Submerge your stones in water and add sea salt that’s the only way you’ll be able to really appreciated them and exude the energy from the colors and feels. Trust me. Soooo I’m happy with the choice of stones however like many here Not happy with the fact that some I have to figure out. For the money we’re paying, hire someone to label the stones, please. Or do them yourself if your well versed. This is why you aren’t getting 5 star ratings. I had to purchase Crystals for Beginners by Karen Frazier and it’s a wonderful guide so on that note... happy you didn’t include the labels. However... it’s time consuming and everyone doesn’t have that kind of time. I want more but considering finding someone who will provide labeling. Thank You! Oh... and I purchased the case here it’s a 30 slot jewelry case. Update: After matching all of the crystals I was promised in the description, I noticed two were missing. I reached out to the Seller and it was explained to me that my crystals came directly from Amazon and they didn't have control over the selection. although seller did provide instruction for every order. She apologized and told me she would send the two missing and the next day I got confirmation of the shipments tracking number. If you want GREAT crystals teach yourself the names and meanings and order from this company! I switched to 5 stars because the Customer Service was top notch Marci took care of me and truly felt bad about my purchase. Order from companies that STAND by their products Hypnotic Gems does that! Thank you so much and I'll be ordering again real soon. ... show more

  • Good Variety, Not Quite Same as Picture Indicates
Size: #D: 6 Pound Lot Color: #B: Extraordinary 26 Stone Mix
I bought the 2 lbs option and it does have a good variety of stones (looks like 26 different types once I cleaned and sorted them). Most of the stones are in the 1 oz weight range based on weighing 6-8 of them on my scale, but I had some as low as .05 oz (not counting the dust and REALLY tiny stones) and as large as 1.6 oz. Much as the picture shows, the sizes are also pretty irregular, but saying they are roughly a 1 inch cube on average would be a safe statement (none of mine were even near golf ball sized as a previous reviewer received). I will also add that I am guessing for the pictures above they either polished them slightly, or they at least added mineral oil to them since even after washing and drying my stones, the color isn't nearly as brilliant as the pictures. I don't have any mineral oil to compare, but when wet the stones did look fairly similar to the pictures (albeit a bit rougher, hence my statement that they might have done a little bit of polishing for their product picture). My grandfather was a Geologist, and I got much of his collection upon his passing so I am always looking to expand my collection and this was a good purchase. I actually might purchase a five lbs bag in the near future to increase the chance of getting some additional varieties also. The only reason I gave it 4/5 stars was due to the difference in the actual stones and the picture being so disparate. Again, I do still plan on ordering another set, but I'm an avid rock hound so willing to pay a bit too much. For someone just wanting stones that look like the picture to put in a glass on a countertop, you might be disappointed (though a little mineral oil on them might fix that). ... show more

  • Beautiful! Incorrect order, but would still recommend!
Size: #C: 3 Pound Lot Color: #A: Superior 17 Stone Mix
These are very beautiful stones!! The only reason I've given a 4-star review is that my order wasn't filled correctly (as seen in image) -- I'm currently in touch with the seller to see if I can work that out, so we'll see, hopefully they can just mail the missing stones and we're good. But seriously, I'm very pleased with these, and thrilled with the price! I feel like I'm not paying that BS "spiritual" markup -- you know the one, where sellers tack on words like "reiki" and "healing" and "chakras" and then inflate the price to ridiculous levels just because they can, to take advantage of "spiritual" and "healer" types? Yeah, Hypnotic Gems didn't seem to pull that nasty trick, and to me, that makes them absolutely praiseworthy!!! I have to admit, when I got the package and there was this little label saying there would be some dust and that I should rinse the rocks off to "show their true potential", I was totally giddy. I love that they're so raw they're all dusty and everything! To me that just adds to the quality of them...I love truly rough stones that haven't been messed with by human hands, you know? Had a lot of fun rinsing them off and watching them shimmer and transform under the water. Totally beautiful! I posted a raving review vid in a big magicky-people group I'm in on Facebook, recommending these babies to all the ragtag chaos magicians. So yeah, I totally would recommend this product. Whether you just love pretty rocks, or you're up to some good old fashioned magic, you will love these! ... show more

  • Nice specimens
Size: #C: 3 Pound Lot Color: #B: Extraordinary 26 Stone Mix
My only complaint is roughly half the bag was your typical run of the mill Jaspers and quartz. Only came with one piece for each of the more desirable stones; however, most of those pieces are of good workable sizes and beautiful.

  • 27 of 28 plus 2 bonuses
Size: #C: 3 Pound Lot Color: #B: Extraordinary 26 Stone Mix
There is a list of stones included in the Amazon listing. I carefully sorted and matched the stones and found I had specimens from all categories except for chrysocolla. I love chrysocolla and already have a raw piece and a tumbled piece but I was looking forward to more pieces of chrysocolla since it’s such a useful stone, especially for women. That said I am very pleased with the rest of the stones I received, several of which are new to me and I am excited to work with them. Additionally I received 2 pieces of pink calcite in addition to the orange and blue calcite in the listing, one of which is on a matrix and is really cool. I also received a price of druzy quartz on a matrix which is very cool as well and above and beyond what I was expecting. I am adding some photos as to my identifications hoping that will help others although I am not guaranteeing that they are 100% correct. I sorted them when wet and took photos when dry. I put them in my hand to gauge the size but my 4 year old wanted to hold them in several photos haha. All in all a wonderful mix of stones. ... show more

  • Blue Quartz is Actually Blue Calcite!!
Size: #C: 3 Pound Lot Color: #A: Superior 17 Stone Mix
Unfortunately this seller inaccurately claims that the bag contains blue quartz. Turns out it is actually blue calcite. I bought these rocks for tumbling, and I tumbled 3 "blue quartz" stones with other quartz, but after a week, they were completely eroded because calcite is a much softer rock than quartz so they can not be tumbled together. I am very disappointed as I was especially excited to see how the blue quartz turned out. The first photo is all the rocks that went into my tumbler, and the second photo is the group that came out a week later (3 rocks short). Other than this discrepancy, so far I am impressed with the bag. Although now I'm going to double check the identification of the other stones because I no longer trust this company's claims. ... show more
