    • 1st 12 pack was awesome 2nd 12 bought were falling apart.
I bought a 12 pack of these lights to try. They were bright and not too bad to wire up. I had 12-2 wiring already up from past lighting and it was too big for the wire nuts provided and barely fit in j-box. I ran new 14-2 for the 2nd half of the 12 and it was better. I liked them enough i bought a 2nd 12 pack. The 2nd 12 pack seemed to be cheaply made compared to the 1st 12 pack. The j-boxes were breaking, they changed the wire nuts so it was hard to even get the 14-2 wiring to grab, and the wiring in the box was falling out. I had to tape up most of the j-boxes from the 2nd order. The lights worked fine tho. I would not have probably bought a 2nd set if i would have gotten the 2nd box 1st. It seems they started trying to save money on production or something wish they would have just kept making the same great product. First set would have been 5 star review 2nd set was definitely lower. ... show more

    • Very similar to Torchstar, the few differences don't matter.
Compared to Torchstar, these lights have a better quality junction box. The metal material is shinier and a little duller on the edges so you're less likely to cut yourself. Advantage: Hykolity. The locking mechanism of the cable is harder to plug in, but more secure. The Torchstar lights have a better cardboard box but in the end this gets thrown away. The one nice thing that the Torchstar has is a simple paper template to tell you the size to cut. You could make your own, but this was very helpful. Fortunately I saved some of these to use with the hykolity lights. In the end, they are both very bright. I would choose the set that is the lowest price. ... show more

    • You get what you pay for...so far 2 out of 12 are not working.....FOLLOW UP

You get what you pay for....just what to start by saying I have bought and installed over 100 low profile LED recessed lights (I'm a contractor) from many different brands, so I did expected shortcuts on this product for the price. The junction box are a very low gauge metal, the spring clips are weak and the connector between the junction box and the light is a soft rubbery plastic threaded joint. To top it off, I installed 8 lights so far and 2 of the lights do not work and I needed all 12, so now I have to buy 2 lights (providing the balance are working).....so if I hear back from the company about the 2 lights that are not working I will update this review about the quality of their customer service.....if not that will be another down side...FOLLOW UP.....DO NOT BUY....THE 10 THAT WERE WORKING AT THE TIME OF INSTALLATION, NOW ANOTHER ONE BIT THE DUST.....I DID REACH OUT TO THE SELLER AND ALL THEY DID WAS QUESTION ME, FIRST THEY ASKED FOR PICTURES OF THE LIGHT AND A PICTURE OF THE PRODUCT BOX, I SENT THAT. WHEN I DIDN'T HEAR BACK, I REACHED OUT AGAIN AND THEN THEY WANTED ME TO SEND VIDEO'S OF ME INSTALLING IT AND SHOWING THAT IT DID NOT WORK....WELL I COULD SEE WHERE THIS WAS GOING. ... show more

    • These are bright!
Great product. Easy to install. A couple points based on our experience: 1. These are bright! We went with the 6”, 3000lumens product and 12 were too much for the living room. We had to disconnect 2. 2. Be careful drilling wholes. We used Milwaukee adjustable whole cutter, and it did a good job. One of the wholes was a tad bigger than 6.25” because the drill was not held tight against the ceiling. The light flange is narrow, so there’s a gap between the light and the ceiling now. Fixable, but I wish we were more careful with cutting ceiling drywall. 3. The metal box is small for multiple wire connections, wish there were 3 punch out wholes. 4. We had to strip each wire to expose more conductor wire. Overall, quality product and we have no complaints. Will be buying more for other rooms in the house. ... show more

    • Great light for the Price
These lights worked out Awesome for me! EZ to install. Wiring was a breeze. Installation into the drywall ceiling, was without any issues. I had no problems with the springs, as they are sturdy enough, and have enough tension to hold the light securely in place. The overall quality in general, of the entire product & packaging, was very good to excellent. No issues or complaints in the quality at all. Being very thin, is a Big Plus! And they can have direct contact with insulation too. These lights don't get hot at all. Warm, yes. But you can touch these without burning your fingers at all. Light output is bright, and easily within the 3000k area. Having them able to be dimmable is a nice option...that I might do to them, at a later date. As far as longevity/life span is concerned...that's to be determined...as I haven't had them long enough to comment about that yet. But if I do have any issues with them, I will update my review. So far, I'm Very Happy with these lights! And I would purchase them again. And also recommend them to Family & Friends too. ... show more
