- L35 Compatibility - L35 fits outboards and sterndrives from 100HP-425HP. It is compatible with all Evinrude, Honda, Johnson, MerCruiser, Mercury, Suzuki, Tohatsu, and Yamaha sterndrives on boats over 18 feet. Four different sizes available. Check chart for compatibility. Note: Select the R-size hydrofoil for pontoons up to 26 feet and 115HP.

Excellent product. I've purchased three of these now, one for my Yamaha 225 and this is the second one for my Merc 350. Both improved the handling of the boat. The ONLY reason I'm buying the second one it the first one did it's job. Boating in Keys and hit a big rock. It saved the prop but did bend the mounting so new one on route. If you boat in thin water a lot, it's well worth the investment. MUCH cheaper than a propeller of a foot assembly!

I usually never write reviews but this made the list for doing so. I purchased a Hydro Shield last spring on my Monterey 214fs with a 5.0MPI and Alpha 1 outdrive because I was looking for a solution to porpoising. Well the Hydro Shield fixed that problem and also added some performance from getting up on plane sooner and also cruising at a lower rpm. Now the fun part. I recently had the boat in Florida and being a northerner on Lake Erie i quickly found the moving sand bars to be tricky to navigate and ran into quite a few dragging the outdrive. Hit some harder than others but thankfully because of the Hydro Shield I never tore up the prop or damaged the skeag. Here is where the Hydro Shield saved my but. All loaded up and trailering home on I-75 somehow my outdrive decided to spring a hydraulic leak and lower the outdrive. A nice passer by in the fast lane let me know, thankfully. Pulled off the highway fearing the worst and low and behold the Hydro Shield was scraping the pavement, completely melted but saved the outdrive. I will never be without one on my boat. Jason

Decent little Whale tail

This was an easy enough install and helped my deckboat with an alpha one throw a better wake for surfing, however, I bumped it into the shore once and now the mounting brackets are bent so that its leaning to the right and it caused the tip of the skeg to snap off where the hole was drilled. The plastic is also very rough now as if someone has taken sand paper to it. It has also robbed about 5mph of top speed from the boat. I need to get new brackets since mine are bent and I dont know what to do about the rough texture of the plastic. Ill probably end up going with a traditional whale tale and stainless skeg protector from here.

The media could not be loaded. I literally cannot believe the change this made in the performance and speed I’m seeing out of my engine! - I had already been impressed with the incredibly durable, quality feel of the shield itself, (not to mention how much better it looks after completely hiding my ugly, scraped up skeg!) but after seeing and experiencing the proof first hand, I’m hands down a believer that this one is going to revolutionize the outboard game! - Install was as simple as you expect! My skeg had a curve to its shape, so I used my clamps to squeeze the middle of the brackets with a wrench between the top of them to “fan” them out just a touch - Measure and Measure again!! - Ensure the front and the back are equal distance from the cavitation plate! And if you need to, use a couple clamps to hold things still! - They instruct you to drill your top rear hole first which is a HUGE help to keep your self on track as you measure one more time before committing to the position! (Totally grateful for that foresight in the design process!) - I hit 18mph with an 8hp four-stroke (to be fair it has a ”9.9” carb) but the fastest I’ve EVER been on that dinghy was MAYBE 10mph for about half a second - (Don’t get me wrong, I love my dinghy, but the planing speed has always been horrible!) - Aside from the speed increase, the smoothness and stability of my turns can’t be given any justice from the video, as it just feels so much better to me than before with the slip being all but gone - I couldn’t begin to praise this one enough! - 15/10 take my money again and again!!

Not worth what i paid for it.

Was easy to install and design and mounting location does offer additional protection to the prop. I am disappointed that it offered very little improvement to the handling and performance to my boat. I have a carolina skiff 16 ft. CC e/w 50 hp Suzuki outboard.

Product works great, never hit a rock yet to see durability

I tried this product today for first trip and was completely, satisfied it kept the front down practically from takeoff. I have a 162 smokercraft with a 60 suzuki that never leveleed off until 4400 rpm at 20 mph and in rough water was a little faster than I preferred. The only somewhat of a downside the product said white , the color of motor and came in black. I still give it 5 star for its performance.
