not much to say besides the material is high quality stainless steel that feels high quality and looks high quality. i like hydroflask lids and this one does not disappoint. if you a prefer a more premium stainless steel look, dislike plastic, or care about better cleanliness then this product is one to add to your hydroflask collection. it also makes it a lot easier to never confuse with other people when in groups. most people do not have a stainless steel lid they have the boring normal boo hoo hum bug plastic nah nah lid that brings no joy or elevation

I’m glad that Hydro Flask has an official metal cap available, though it’s a tiny bit pricey. I replaced the original black plastic cap on my wide mouth bottle with this and have had no issues. Water doesn’t leak out and the lid is insulated so keeps my drinks cool. Hasn’t dented from being dropped. It is somewhat louder than the plastic cap when being unscrewed or tightened (metal on metal) but I don’t mind. With this new cap, there’s absolutely no plastic taste in my water compared to the slight taste I got from the original cap. Silicone gasket comes out for cleaning, and the threads can be cleaned with a small brush.

I like this lid because it’s not plastic but the rubber seal inside is not removable like the lid for the next smaller size down. Water gets trapped inside and therefore I can’t dry completely. Keeping because I don’t want to go back to the standard plastic lid it comes with. I’ll just have to deal .

I have been using Blender Bottle stainless steel products for years to mix my shakes. But they have plastic lids. Only recently have I learned about micro and nano plastics shedding into our drinks and food from plastic contact. Because the FDA takes an innocent until proven guilty approach to product safety, micro and nano plastic particles will be deemed "safe" by FDA until/if someone else performs studies proving otherwise. I prefer a guilty until proven innocent approach when it comes to food safety. With that context in mind, I am trying to minimize my exposure to plastic containers and packaging as much as possible including switching from my Blender Bottles to other products that don't have plastic in them, including the lids. I purchased a Hydro Flask stainless steel bottle from Amazon. Before doing so, I called Hydro Flask and asked if any of their products are plastic-free including the lids. They referred me to this lid to pair with one of their stainless steel bottles that come standard with plastic lids. The interior of the lid includes a gasket to prevent leaks. Hydro Flask told me this gasket is "food grade silicone". Strangely they said they do not show this stainless steel lid at their (Hydro Flask) website but do sell it at Amazon. Since I am not using my Blender Bottles anymore, I transferred one of the mixing balls from my Blender Bottle to my Hydro Flask. Works great. I am happy with the switch and with this purchase...so far. I have only been using it a few days. It remains to be seen whether I will encounter the metal dust issues noted by others and whether such dust is a one-time issue from initial use or a recurring issue.

The sound this lid makes when screwing and unscrewing the top is horrible. Like metal scratching on metal. That alone made this unusable

Ya know what makes a lot of noise in my Hydro Flask? Ice sloshing around with my favorite tasty beverage. This stainless steel lid is no louder than anything else in life. It's actually a great lid in all seriousness. Lid fits like a glove, doesn't leak, the look has made me popular again with the ladies. And best of all, the reason I went with this, won't smell over time from coffee. Edit: Have had for 2 weeks. My bottle is my workhorse at work and at home. There no metal shavings, I repeat there areno metal shavings. The lid is very well machine there is no need to clamp it down super hard. Feels great handling something w/o plastic that has weight. That plastic handle is destined to be removed. Wish: the handle was also smoothed metal. Gladly pay extra.

Does not fit the pathfinder 32 oz stainless water bottle. I was hoping it would but it doesnt. Good quality otherwise though.
