Please check out the photos to compare our first toddler slm thermos and our recently bought hydro flask. The hydro flask is more expensive but super worth it and superior. The lid design is simple and you can see if it is clean or not. You can wash it easily. You can trust your child is drinking clean water. The slm design might be cute but the lid is super complex and it is always wet under the straw causing mold super easily. The slm leaks even when the straw is closed. I was loving the flask for my son until it started leaking out of the top like crazy. I realized that some piece like a screw or something has come out of a hole on the top of the lid and therefore water flows from it like crazy when it falls on it's side. Which is all the time when your 18 month old is using it. So we cannot use it anymore. Huge bummer especially at this the price and after ONLY ever hand washing it. ... show more

Very easy to clean, pretty easy for my two year old to hold, get the spout up and drink out of, BUT the straw leaks pretty bad. It does keep the contents very cold but is a little too wide for my diaper bag cup holder and the rubber grippy bottom keeps it from sliding into his backpack bottle holder.
