The quality of this cymbal overall is very good. I did run into a snag with the mounting options, had to rig up something to make it work. The biggest issue for me is the overall sounds; there are more “ride” type sounds than “crash” sounds. My main purpose in buying this extra cymbal was so I could have another crash cymbal, since my kit came with a ride cymbal already. I like the dual zone function even though I use this one for my ride cymbal expansion. The outer edge with a firm strike for some settings has a crash type of slow attack and rebound.

    • Dual Zone feature not compatible with my Alesis Surge kit.
I bought the "HXW 10' Dual Zone Cymbal" to add to my Alesis Surge kit and there was no dual zones when plugged into the tom 4 input which supports dual zones. So I returned and replaced it and the replacement was the same. Very frustrating. However the product works fine as a single zone. Update: As it was explained to Me. It turns out the module on my Alesis Surge kit doesn't support any dual zone cymbals. This cymbal works as good as the surge add on for about $20 less ... show more

    • Worked perfectly after adjustments!
Picked a couple of these up for my daughters Roland TD5 to use as a crash and a ride. Not sure if it was the TD5 module or the cymbal itself, but I needed to reverse the center and edge trigger, but once I did that they worked perfectly. She loves them!
