I got this reel for one of our RV camping trips where we were going to stay at a lake. I have a nice rod with a heavyweight deep sea reel that I use off Catalina Island when we stay there. I didn't want to buy a whole new set up since we dont do much lake fishing as a rule. I found this reel with the specs I wanted and good reviews. It was easy and smooth to load it with 5lb test line and has a very smooth casting & reeling motion. You are able to set the line in tension and all standard spinner reel functions work well.     • Stellar for freshwater application, not for salt water at all.
I purchased this for fresh water fishing. Corrosion is less of a issue for me. However this reel will be destroyed if used in salt water conditions. The metal is not corrosion resistant at all. It's cheap, does the job, and has metal bearings. There's a manufacturer that makes these reels and everyone just rebrands it. It looks nice, works, but just isn't meant for corrosive salt water. Junk! 2 fishing trips... bought 3 rods, all 3 do not function. Took them apart, gears are all rusted out. We rinse our poles every trip 2 x, packing and before storing. Cheaply made and not intended for saltwater at all. Very disappointed

It's big was looking for a some what small one for river fishing or just some what small fish but this is not small it it's more for lakes or just big fish nice product though

I loved this and it caught quite a lot of fish. Unfortunately, I didn't rinse it off enough after fishing on a kayak in the gulf and the salt water ruined it so I bought another!
