The HUMASOL Seed Starter Tray with Grow Light comes with some labels and tools, the lights and cord and has a tray on the bottom. What you will need is one USB Wall Adapter plug (The bright green thing in the photo that has the USB cord plugged into) and possibly an extension cord because the USB wires are short. Of course you need soil, seeds, and water. The trays are easy to put together. Just put the celled tray into the bottom green tray. Put the lights on the top of part of the tray. The lights have a little 'nub' in the center which fits through the hole on the top of each container. I would recommend that you put one hand inside the container top and work the top plastic around the nub and not just put the light on top of it and press down. The top is just a little thicker than the plastic container a roasted chicken from the grocery store comes in so it can be crushed by pressing on it trying to get the nub trough the hole. The lights also act as vent regulators (3 vent holes on each top) so need to be on even if you are not using the lights. The USB cable has one end to plug into the adapter for the wall and then branches out to 5 different wires that have a USB micro end that plugs into each light. The lights are on only when it is plugged in. There is no on/off switch. It was late afternoon when I planted my seeds in the tray. The sun was already going down so I put the lights on and three hours later checked on them. The condensation is obvious on the top. It will take a bit of trial and error to get the whole vent and water level right just as it would with any new growing device. The pros: Works well. Is affordable. The cons: (Maybe more like "wishes" instead of cons.) Even the cells are that same plastic which would crack/bend when using pressure so once the plants grow, there is no easy way to pop out the plant without the risk of damaging either the plant or roots. The cords are too short. As you can see in the photo my plug is a good distance off the ground and I had to push the table right up to it just to line then up on the edge for the plug to reach the outlet. With that said, these cons are really wishes because if the cords were longer and the tray was a pop-out tray, would this still be 'affordable'? Naturally the cost would go up so maybe it isn't that bad of a con since everyone can use an extension cord and take extra care removing the plants but not everyone has money to spend on expensive seed starting trays. That is why I am giving this 5 stars. There really isn't a con for them. ... show more

This is a very nice, compact seed starter. I love how it comes with the grow lights and humidity cover. Please note that the seed trays are more of a hard plastic and not very flexible, so this may not last for season after season. But, the price is low enough to buy replacements for future seasons.

Came nicely packaged. Fast shipping. Thought the set included soil, it does not. I'm am new to gardening so this review is from a novice perspective. This was perfect for what I needed. I ended up filling each cell about 3/4 full, used the shovel to pack everything nice and tight, put my seeds in and then filled with dirt and packed again. We used the seed tool for a few but found the other method easier. Name sign was very helpful, sharpie worked well but will try a washable marker next time to reuse. Instructions were clear. Great quality, my 6yo and I enjoyed using this thoroughly. Recommend! ... show more

I personally am thrilled with this little seed starting kit. Pros: Multiple tops, heat lights, a 5-way USB power cord, seedling trays and bottoms. Plus, additional tools and items to make seed starting a breeze. Cons: I suppose that a complaints could be made about how incredibly thin the seed trays themselves are. Yet, I don't really care as I'll simply adapt these to use seed starting coco coir or other seed starting product. So, all-in-all, I've got zero complaining. ... show more

This is a convenient starter seed kit. I live in the mountains and planting seeds is very difficult to grow especially with the squirrels around. I planted tomatoes seeds. The tray is small enough to move around. The cord is not too long so an extention cord might be needed and an adapter is needed to plug in the light I used my phone adapter which worked fine. ... show more

A great starter kit to grow seeds in. It comes in 5 trays that have 12 slots in each one. That gives you 60 starter plants. They are easy to use with a USB cord. I use a solar charger which saves on electricity. Once plugged in it is really cool to see lit up. The instructions are easy to follow and you can use yearly.
