This past weekend we took this camping for our 14 yr old. Our pop up is too small for us now & he wanted to sleep in our van instead. This worked great! It was so easy to put on our van & several times we needed to remove it to drive but it was easy to remove quickly. The only thing I wish came with it is poles to hold up the flap it you wanted to but that's an easy buy. I liked using this. It was a bit difficult for me to set up by myself. I am only 5' tall, so that was part of the issue. Also, I'd prefer to have poles for the awning, so I could set up a table & chair under it. I tied the awning to top of my vehicle. Other than that, it is a good product. I never do these reviews but thought this was needed. There is another review where the person said he bought the small size and it works for his two cars. NOTE - there is NO small size offered in this listing! There is another product that does offer two sizes; don't know how the confusion appears here. Anyway... I am putting this on a 3rd generation Mazda 3 hatchback. The item is TOO LARGE. It extends about three inches past each side of the tailgate. Is difficult to place the extra width and length of the tent when mounting. When mounted it is still possible to use the rain fly and door zippers (which are the best implementation of these type tents). Overall quality of construction looks good, though this is the lightest of the offerings. Handling carefully to start - will see in the long run! Bottom line: I am not returning the item. Intend to use it for this season and may update the durability rating after doing so. Any comment about keeping out the rain will have to wait on that too (am using magnets on areas of slack). ... show more
