I purchased eight panels in the Wild Rose color and was fortunate to catch them at $32 each, especially now that the price has increased. I’ve bought many HPD velvet and linen drapes over the years and have loved every set, so I felt confident choosing these for my bedroom. I had originally hoped for a deeper mauve as my shams are deep mauve, but this shade is close enough to tie the entire room together beautifully. It’s a rich, deep rose with subtle bronze undertones that feels luxurious without being overpowering. As with all HPD velvet drapes, I find them most stunning at night when there’s no light filtering through—the color appears truest and most refined. The quality is consistently outstanding. The panels have excellent weight, enough to hang properly and create that elegant, structured look, yet not so heavy that they strain rods or tracks. The weighted hem is a thoughtful detail that makes a noticeable difference. I ordered the 96" length for my upstairs windows. With my current rod setup, they pool softly at the bottom, but once I install a drapery track, they’ll skim the floor exactly as they should. This is the third option I bought for the desired “mauve/dusty rose velvet” curtain I needed. Since things are never what they seem in stock photos or some person review photos I bought what seemed like the best three options based on reviews. The lesson we once again learn from this - cheap is cheap. COLOR: These Wild Rose color in the HPD Velvet blackout curtain panels are more of the color I wanted. The others were either too purple or too baby pink. This Wild Rose color is RICH and really does have a bronze undertone to is which makes the color itself look expensive. QUALITY: As for the fabric quality and construction of them these are by far the most well made. The fabric is thicker and lusher looking and feeling. It’s more velvet than the others which seem more like velour. LINING: The backing is the standard white blackout liner which is very well attached part of the curtain. HANGING: The hidden rod tabs on the back of the top were a pleasant surprise. After getting the other three budget velvet curtains of another brand whose tabs (made of many strings and not even spaced) were so horrible I felt like literally any other type of hidden tab would be better. When I opened these I may have possibly gasped. Not only were they totally even and properly places in each end - they were made of the same velvet fabric as the front of the curtain panel. Hallelujah.. this was real quality. I immediately packed up the previously tried ones and put these on my windows then stood back and admired how perfectly placed the tabbed pleating at the top looked. SUMMARY: If you are looking for velvet curtains I’m going to highly suggest you stop being super cheap (like I attempted) and spend a little more on these HPD. You will save your sanity for versions reasons. These are gorgeous and glamorous. If you’re looking at velvet curtains you know that’s what you’re hoping for! These are two 100W x 96L panels (Au Lait Creme color). I am glad I went with the 100W instead of a smaller width option. The window in this image is about 75” width and these two 100W panels allow for full window coverage and leave sufficient excess fabric to let the curtains hang nicely when they’re fully closed. I recognize the 100W option is quite a bit more expensive than the smaller width options, but if you’ve got anything larger than a standard 1 pane bedroom window then you’ll be happy you spent the extra money on the 100W size. This bedroom wall is a standard 96” height and the 96L curtain works perfectly for a floor-to-ceiling look. If I hung the bar just an inch higher the curtains would perfectly kiss the floor. Instead, I hung the bar a little lower and as a result these curtains are gently puddling on the floor. I prefer the curtains to “kiss” the floor, but the “puddling” look in this little girl’s nursery is nice and I think I’m going to leave it this way. If you prefer the kiss look or the puddling look and your ceilings are at least 96” then these curtains will work for you. The velvet fabric has a lux feel. These curtains are heavy which gives them a high quality feel. I was also satisfied with the quality of the hanging options along the top/back of the curtains. I hung these curtains onto the bar using the tabs on the back of the curtain. I had curtain rings/hooks but I decided to hang these by the curtains’ tabs on the back so that the curtain sat up higher on the bar and less fabric puddled on the floor. These curtains will work well however you choose to hang them (e.g. on rings+hooks, or by putting the bar through the curtains’ bar sleeve). The curtains arrived in excellent condition, they weren’t wrinkly or tarnished in any way. I wish the curtains did a little more to darken the room. They are advertised as room-darkening, and I didn’t pick the darkest color option to begin with, but I’m not sure these curtains will get the room dark enough for my baby’s daytime naps. Since the curtains are properly advertised as “darkening” and not “blackout” I think this product otherwise meets all my expectations and it gets 5 stars. ... show more
