I tossed each panel in the dryer on medium heat to remove packing creases and immediately hung. Easy to install and perfect length. If you hang directly from the package, they may be a little long. Just warm in a dryer and they shrink just enough for true length. With my friend's house and mine, I've now installed 14 of these panels. I like that they block so much light and heat! I have lined, room darkening drapes in the same room that don't block light as well as these. Don't snag as easily as competitors. The birch is a soft ecru, off-white color. I couldn't believe their. . . price based on amount of great fabric, blackout lining, weights used in hem corners, plus labor involved in making them. . . compared to custom made ones that I thought I was going to have to order! This is the absolute best brand of drapes you can buy. They are VERY well made. Even have little weights in the bottom hem. I have bought directly from them in the past so if you’re not happy with your purchase, it’s not the fault of Half Price Drapes that’s for sure. Either Amazon or the seller would be to blame but definitely not the brand. They’re more expensive than others but they’re worth every penny. These drapes look even better than Pottery Barn’s. I did return though because the color wasn’t as light as I wanted. I did find the color I wanted and ordered those. You can get up to 5 free swatches directly from HPD website. I did that as well as purchasing extra swatches to make sure I ordered exactly what I wanted. It’s really hard to determine colors online. Birch was way darker than it looked online. I ended up with Starlight White and I have light gray walls (BM Light Pewter). ... show more

These are not blackout drapes but they do a nice job of keeping my bedroom darker than if I were using just blinds or sheers. My only complaint is how wrinkled they were - but a steamer took pretty good care of those without too much effort.
