I think I like this more than the kids do! It is so easy to use and you can just zoom in on everything! The detail on the screen is very good. We haven't had any mechanical issues with it. The viewing space is large enough for even bigger pieces of nature. The kids like it too, but me and my science brain really really loves to use it. Update: I added a couple pics, just to give some reference. One is of hairs growing out of the scalp and the other is a close up of a spider face! Mind you it’s a pic of the screen, I didn’t have a SD card to save it directly or it would have been so much crisper and clearer! This was THE favorite gift opened at Christmas and a hit for the entire family! I don’t say that lightly, I mean we had arguments over whose turn it was to use this microscope, it is far from a simple kids toy. This thing comes with a somewhat juvenile appearance but make no mistake, it’s magnification is absolutely microscopic and scientific. It has the ability to take and save stullahots of the specimen using an sd card for memory, which isn’t included. It had a very bright light, seems to auto focus but also had a turn lens to zoom in and out and then if that’s not precise enough, which it usually, you can press up or down by one degree of magnification to really focus in. We caught a small spider and were able to see his fangs and eyes, the hairs in its legs, and so much more!! If you have an inquisitive child, or honesty if you are a nerdy adult who finds joy in stuff like this, you will not regret this purchase. I still cannot believe the price for this is so inexpensive for what it does. Oh, and it charges (using a C charger) quickly and lasts for a good amount of time. Get one as a gift but I highly recommend you grab one for yourself at the same time, it’ll be a big hit! ... show more
