My office jet 8600 printer stopped working after many years of service. I was hesitant to buy this one because I never buy used electronics. After reading lots of reviews, I decided on this refurbished office jet 8028 printer. First of all, this printer arrived well packaged, in perfect condition. It's hard to believe that it was used by anyone! The set up wasn't exactly easy for this 80 yr old grandma, even though the instructions were pretty clear, along with the videos on you tube. Love the blue color as well. Got it up and running. Print is nice and clear. Prints pretty fast, haven't used the fax yet. Expect it to lad a long time. It's also not heavy to move around if needed.

Product functions properly, looks like new, has manufacturer warranty. Printer is a little bulky, but being an officejet, holds more paper than an envy. The printer does not make tone sounds, like when done printing a document. Don't know if this is normal, or a malfunction. The envy that I replaced with this printer made tonal sounds. There is a setting to enable sounds, but nothing is heard. The only other complaint I would note is the 1yr warranty included by H.P. It seems to me that the warranty begins when the printer is refurbished. I purhcased mine in November, and the warranty had 10mos and change left. I would have thought that it started when I bought it. All in all, happy with the purchase.

Okay the printer appears to work well EXCEPT it must be connected to Wi-Fi 24/7 or HP won't let it print. It can't be hooked up to a hot spot, either. I live out in the boonies with very intermittent service and mostly use my phone's hot spot. Waste of $$$. Sure would have been nice if that little detail had been in the product description. It took me SO LONG to figure that out that I had recycled the packaging and the return window passed. Now I have a nice looking huge paperweight. Ugh.

Now this is a great printer so far. Had it for about a week and everything so far is great. I printed a test photo on regular paper and it looked great! The printer itself is great, HP brand on the other hand is a joke. The one very huge thing I don’t like, HP forces you to allow some level of monitoring. It is “required”, how ridiculous is this? I bought a printer and in order to use it I am “required” to allow minimal monitoring. You can’t finish setting up the app, which you need in order to finish setting up the printer (they get you one way or another!!!) unless you allow the minimum “required” monitoring. This sucks, it feels like an invasion of privacy. I can’t just out right buy something and have no ties to the company? Also, they try every trick along the way while setting it up to get you to sign up for more. It warns you of the reasons they need more access (after denying it) and what it means if you deny access, etc. I said no to EVERYTHING as well as the “2 months of free ink”. And holy cow, so many warnings and pop ups came along afterwards. From what I looked into with the InkSmart, and based on reviews on Reddit, it is a subscription based ink auto-ship. So they automatically charge and send you ink based on your usage. But you pay a monthly fee. I have no clue what the fees are (Reddit user said around $5.99/mo.) but I don’t want a company monitoring anything. I bought the printer and thats it!! And everything I have read into, it is quite difficult to cancel that subscription after your “free” months are up. So I chose to opt out of any “free” anything. While the printer is a good printer, I will warn you that it was quite discouraging at how many attempts were made to coax me into letting them access my data. And that it is for the purpose of bettering their printers and customer Service etc. Almost to a point where I wanted to send it back and look for a brand that doesn’t require all the nonsense. Just let me buy my HP ink cartridges at Costco and stop trying to get all of my info!!! Anyhow, this isn’t the sellers fault so and the printer itself is good so I still gave it 4 stars.

I bought 6 different printers before this one and sent them all back because I could not get them to connect to wifi or my phone. I sold my original printer as it was too big and I only use it to print shipping labels and a few other random things. I don't use it a whole lot. I wanted something smaller, so I tried all the compact, travel size ones and could not get them to print from email - totally annoying. Tried a couple of other smaller ones, and could not get them to connect to my wifi, even with a new wifi extender. I almost gave up ... then came across this one. Yes, its refurbished, but I said what the heck for the price. Its not like I can't send it back. I am annoyed that it literally has a $20.00 off coupon one day after I received it though. Hate that... Anyway - I was hestitant to try and set it up last night, as all the others frustrated me....but I did anyway and it was connected to wifi, up and running in less than 20 minutes - SHOCKED ME! I even printed a label from my email just to make sure I wasnt delusional! I love the pop of color as it adds a little something to my room! I'd def recommend this. Now, unless something changes - its a keeper!

The copies are good quality and the color is fine. I like the scan, it is clear and the whole thing was easy to setup and use, It connected right away without any trouble. Would be nice if it came with a printer cable, luckily I had one left over from my last printer which was a laser printer.
