The laptop functions just fine. Initially, it had quite a few junks for a new laptop; for example PUPs, which was a bit annoying. However once these junks were removed, it worked just fine. In terms of build quality, it felt cheap, although the design was sleek. Display is okay, speaker quality is better then expected, battery life is average. All in all its a good laptop for the price. I recommend it if you're on a budget but if you have a few extra dollars i suggest an alternative. ... show more

My laptop was a lemon, right out of the packaging. I regret not returning it immediately. Buggy, fussy, doesn't work right. the touch screen doesn't work well, and will perceive a touch when nothing has happened, moving around wildly when I type. I am really unhappy with this, but I don't know what I expecting purchasing something made by HP. The keys in the keyboard also don't work right, and the battery life is TERRIBLE. Also unrelated but the OS is obnoxious and even with all notifications "turned off," they still show up. I wish Cortana would just shut up. Constant, unavoidable updates. This laptop takes longer and longer to wake up every time I put it to sleep or shut it down. Not enough USB ports. All in all, I give it a 35/100. Save your money and get something else, that will actually work. ... show more

I bought this laptop a few months ago and wanted to see how it performed before writing a review. I have been totally satisfied with this laptop. The screen has excellent resolution and the audio is clear. I've been using it for Zoom and Duo mtgs and have completely happy with it. I'm a writer and wanted a laptop with a disk drive for when I travel since wi-fi and downloading can be hard to access at times. It's all worked beautifully. I principally use it to run Word and Excel and mainly store files on a USB. Battery life is good, but I usually keep it plugged in. Would completely purchase again. ... show more

Great laptop, I’ve other laptops and I’m using this one to replace and old one (use for testing) and so far I’ve no complains. It has a lot power and a lot of features for the price. I don’t think you will find a cheaper laptop with all the features this one offers. There’s also room to update the RAM (a plus) and it has enough hard drive space. Overall this computer is an excellent computer for the dollar. It is fairly fast, has a ton of storage space, starts up quickly, etc. Really the only issues I have with it are the track pad and battery life. The track pad is not nearly as sensitive as the one on my 7 year old Acer Aspire laptop. I am getting used to it though and it is acceptable. The benefit with this computer is that you can just use the touch screen if you don't like the track pad. Also the battery life is about 3 to 4 hours realistically at 50% screen brightness. Windows 10 is really cool, and there is so much hard drive space I feel like I will never use it all. Overall I would recommend this computer to someone who needs a solid up-to-date computer and can overlook the fact that it is not the best computer money can buy. WORST laptop I have EVER purchased and I have Bought over a dozen in the last 40+ years. It would definitely qualify for "LEMON" Status.I had always considered Hewlett Packard to be a respected name in electronics, but I found out during the first few months the of product use, that I was seriously misinformed..The 1st dreaded bluescreen occurred soon after purchase and happened every 4 months until, as I predicted, it crashed after the warranty had expired. The 1st 1 caused me to outlay $50 in order to have an HP tech come to my place and replace the operating system. The next two times I opted to send it to them in Texas where purportedly they "Repaired" it until 4 months later when the exact same problem happened. I was informed that had i sent it to them all three times, instead of having the tech repair it i could qualify for replacement, but now on breakdown #4 it is too late and I get sent to the "warranty ran out, and didn't pay more to extend it department" where you get left on hold until you forget you called them ... Putting out more $$ for a warranty which has already turned into a $500 paperweight is just ridiculous. BUYER BEWARE: just because it looks nice and has all the features you are looking for at the right price, doesn't mean it will actually work. The only worse thing than this piece of junk is the customer service/support that it comes with ... show more
