It can get pretty cold during winter here in the northeast. A few years ago my outdoor heating oil tank got so chilled that the diesel fuel inside it jelled and stopped flowing to my boiler. The house got real cold real fast. I had to fuel the boiler out of 5 gallon jugs until the tank thawed. Lesson learned, did some research and found that Howes is one of the best products one can use to prevent diesel fuel from jelling, so I’ve been adding a 64 oz. bottle of Howes to every wintertime oil delivery that I get. I try to use this regularly in our bus that has a Detroit Series 60. We got stranded at a rest area in Alabama and the temperature dropped to 7 degrees overnight. I had trouble starting the next morning, should never have shut down the engine, but the fuel did not gel. I've been using Howe's for nearly 25 years. If you're up north it keeps diesel from gelling or waxing in the cold,while down here in Florida it keeps algae from growing in your tank.It's in my tractor,bulldozer, and pick-up truck,and I wouldn't have equipment without it.Mileage is slightly better and my equipment seems to run smoother.Any manufacturer who says to try his product and if it doesn't work you get your money back is confident in their product.
