It actually is! I read the summary of it first and when I got it for my grandson for Christmas (before it was wrapped) I looked through it from cover to cover and this is really an informative, well put together book, that is easy to follow for beginning artists! My grandson loved it and still uses it all the time when he draws or sketches! What a good price it was as well! This was our favorite drawing book out of several we purchased for a 9-year-old. There's a tremendous assortment of figures to draw, and the instruction seems helpful...not too complicated, boring, nor discouraging. Both kids and adults can use this book as a reference.

Actually, this is a great book for any age, though it's marvelous for a kid. All instructions are clear, and my grandson loves it. The only thing that is a drawback at all is the sheer size of the book. It does have "everything" and that makes it heavy. I think if it were spiral bound, that would be a plus, or if divided into smaller books of a set, that would be better. But overall, a terrific book. ... show more
