What a cool concept! My 12 year old daughter LOVES the wings of fire series and she was ecstatic to recieve this as a gift. She works on it for hours at a time. The quality is excellent. It has guides in it that are very well done and make book writing enjoyable for her. I highly recommend this for any creative wings of fire fan who just cant get enough of the books. ... show more

Bought 2 for grandkids’ Xmas (ages 8,10-avid readers) to “teach” the elements of storytelling. They immediately grabbed pencils and began! They were going on a special vacation the next day and both of them insisted on bringing their books. Seeing them on the plane concentrating on their story, warmed my heart. Graphic novels are great way to get kids to love reading. This book helps them to write their own graphic novel. They were so proud of their “own” stories. This book is going to blow my 10-yo's mind when I give it to her for her birthday tomorrow. She and her friends are obsessed with this series. The quality of the printing and paper weight are both outstanding, and the content seems to be exactly what I was expecting. Unfortunately, somewhere between printing and Amazon, someone slapped a rather large barcode label directly on the front cover and it partially obscured a portion of the title. I was able to remove it, but it left a sticky mess on the cover. Now instead of a beautiful birthday gift, she's getting a cool book with a sticky, scratched up cover. So I got this book because I love wings of fire and always dreamed of creating my own book/dragon world. I saw this book and I was like "perfect!" I bought it and it was amazing. They have so many prompts in it to help you. But there are a lot of drawing in it and I mostly did not use it because I wanted to make a novel. So I skipped those parts. But if your making a graphic novel and is amazing at drawing dragons its perfect for you! ... show more

My grandkids are huge WoF fans, ripping through each book in the series and cramming lore into their brains. I thought this workbook would go over well with them, but my expectations were obliterated. My daughter informs me that the kids - especially my almost 12 yo grandson and 10 yo granddaughter - seized the book the moment it arrived and have been writing and drawing non-stop ever since and talking about their stories at the dinner table. The kids are home educated, and are also part of a home-school co-op. My daughter described the book and the catalytic reaction to some other moms in the group; turns out ALL the kids are WoF fans. Next thing you know, Forge Your Dragon World is going to be the basis of the coming year's writing program, which will mostly be student-lead. They may even set a goal to "publish" the resulting writings and illustrations at the end of the year. A bit of advice: if you are going to get this book for your kids or grandkids, better get at least a ream of paper as well because you're going to need it! ... show more
