This shelf is shallow enough to sit in front of my window in a narrow-ish walkway to my desk, wide enough to accommodate all of the stuff I wanted to put in front of said window, stout enough to hold at LEAST 100 pounds of paper/stuff and looks pretty nice to boot!     • Assembled in Less Than 15 Minutes and Works for Most Applications

This bookshelf took me about three minutes to unpack and about 12 minutes to assemble by myself. The price at time of purchase was $68. I think this is too high for what you get. Everything except the shelves are high quality (including the fasteners). The shelves are the really flakey particle board, so over time, I expect to need to fill the screw holes back in with sawdust and wood glue to tighten them back up or just replace the shelves altogether with real wood. Having said, the bookshelf is really lightweight as-is and can be moved easily. That might be important to some people. While the shelves are made of cheap material, the way they finished them will have most people fooled as they look like real wood. The bookshelf looks great, I just wouldn't use it to store anything heavy (including textbooks). I'm using it to keep lightweight items off the floor, including a basket that holds my dogs' toys, some paperback books, etc. This would be a better value at $50, however I would be satisfied paying closer to $90 if the shelves were solid wood. All-in-all, it'll do the job for now. As long as it holds up, I'm not changing anything, but if I get to the point where the shelves bow or become loose, I'll just make replacement shelves. I think you'll be satisfied with it around $65, but if you can get it closer to $50, that'd be a great deal. Hope this helps! ... show more

I now have two of these shelves, and they are a very good size for my needs. The height is about the same as a typical desk, and the metal ends help keep stuff from accidentally falling off the side. I put both together myself in less than 10 minutes. While they are MDF, the shelves are a good weight and strong. Across both pieces of furniture, I saw no warping or bending of the shelves. I have been putting furniture together for decades and this was probably the easiest build I’ve ever done. Very solid shelves, seems they will hold a lot of weight. I had really tight clearances for this to fit and I was worried that the measurements might be off. They were not and the unit fits perfectly.
