I’m disabled, so I need tools to many chores. This device makes it easy to make kindling out of split wood with a two pound hammer. I have split a couple bigger pieces as well. I sit in the wheelchair and raise/drop a 16 pound sledgehammer. An abele bodied person may split faster, but it sure beats trying to hold a wedge! I mounted on some 4x4 with a gap in the middle. As the wedges are in the middle of the device this can give me a few extra inches of clearance to complete the split. Otherwise you may have to flip the wood over

When i got this thing I did t know how easy it would split logs so i grabbed a dry piece of hedge that super hard. This thing did exactly what it was suppose to do. Only complaint is that its to short and wont split logs all the way and they get stuck. Make this thing 6 inches longer and it would be spot on.

Bolted to concrete and super Sturdy…but showed up dull, and one of the “blades” bent on the first piece of wood I tried splitting. Works better now as something to hold wood as I use a splitting wedge/spike.
