This is better quality than expected. Guard and cover are metal. Only complaint I have is it sat in Los Angeles for a week. Plan on using it for rifle brass work.

The lathe itself is fantastic. The tools included are cheapy. I went and actually bought new tools at a woodworking store. Now I can't stop lathe-ing!!

This thing works great! Comes fully assembled and runs smoothly. I little bit louder than I expected but I never had a lathe before so I have no reference. -1 star because the chisels are terrible! They chip and dull within seconds. Do yourself a favor and buy a decent set of chisels before using the lathe. ... show more
