I will be honest with you, this set is a little closer to Matchbox-quality than Hot Wheels, in terms of the car designs not feeling very special in that rare extra-durable Hot Wheels sort of way, but I give this five stars because this set gives you a lot of bang overall. I got a similar Advent Callendar set from Lego, and when it is all said and done the Hot Wheels set leaves you feeling like you have a pile of prizes, whereas the Lego sets are usually more costly with prizes that seem extra tiny and don't even really add much to an existing Lego set, aside from the figures. By contrast, this Hot Wheels set is a bigger box, with a bigger cardboard play area, heavier toys, and overall this set just delivers more than the average. Just be prepared for the cars to be just a little lower grade and more out-of-date looking than your average Hot Wheels cars. I am not sure why these cars don't feature holiday images on them, but they are still pretty cool, and the figures have a neat design that seems to compliment crashing cars into them in different ways. ... show more

I had low expectations actually, I thought my nephew wouldn't care about this. (He's 3 and a half). He gets cars all the time. But he has been playing with his one car and the pretend world for about an hour and forgot that I was about to give him his rare TV time. He is so excited and of course wants to open all of them now. But he'll have to learn patience. Anyway, this is helping him really adore the month of December which makes me happy! ... show more

This calendar is so fun for my 3-year-old! He loves opening a door every day. Yes, some pieces are just little plastic parts, but for a kid they are fun little gifts! This was nice instead of the traditional candy advent calendars. My son loved it! The only reason it didn't get a 5 star because we were disappointed not to open a "Santa" on the last day. It comes with an elf, reindeer, a sleigh, a snowman but not a Santa. We thought that was weird and wondered if it was a mistake. ... show more

My son is obsessed with hot wheels and enjoyed the new surprise each day last year as he counted down to Christmas. This year the vehicles are new from last year and he was just as excited to do it all over again. Highly recommend for a young child that has a love for hot wheels.

I purchased this advent calendar for my 7 year old!! He is having the best time opening up all the windows everyday and working on number recognition!! I am not sure why Amazon is asking about thickness or warmth ... lol but it is worth the money, it’s fun, and full of surprises!

We are only on day 6, but this advent calendar is worth it. My son’s eyes light up everyday. Keep in mind it is not just cars. So far there have been a couple of cars but also a snowman, a snow ramp, and a reindeer. Would definitely recommend.

It’s be great I think for smaller kids. My 6 year old is bored with it. I can’t find many boy advent calendars that aren’t candy and he likes hot wheels so I got this. There’s 8 cars the rest of the days are just little accessories, which he found boring.
