Bought these as sleep socks (getting older, cold feet while sleeping, even under blankets). I like that they retain heat well, but are not too constrictive. Previously, I would never wear socks to bed, because I don't like the feeling of my feet being constrained while sleeping. However, sleep doctor recommended keeping room cold but feet warm for good sleep. These are soft, warm, and not too tight -- I slept well wearing them. They have a soft inner lining, and washed well (gentle cycle, low-heat dryer). They might be a bit thick for wearing with shoes, but they're great for home or sleep use!

Note that I do not wear these with shoes, only indoors. I first purchased these socks in 2019, and have only just now gotten a hole in one sock 5 years later (it is 2024 at the time of review). These are hands down the best socks for keeping your feet warm, even with poor circulation. Ditch the usual fuzzy socks that do not insulate- these are extremely soft and comfortable. I have just ordered a new 4 pack to supplement the old, and the quality is the same as it was pre-covid. Price: seems reasonable for the quality, and has not really changed. In 2019, I bought 2 pair for $15.99. This year in 2024, I bought the 4 pack on sale for $19.99 (regular price $29.99). IMO, a very good value on sale or not! Composition of fibers, for those curious. It depends on the pair, but: 93-94% acrylic, 5-6% polyester, and 1% elastane exclusive of elastic.

Very soft and comfortably warm. My only complaint is that they don't stay pulled up very well. They could be a little more snug around the calf to stay up. Otherwise their great.
