    • Hornady Always the Best!
If you want dies and don’t have specific dies from a specific brand for a specific set of reasons, you want Hornady dies. They make a great dues. First, they make the best lock rings. They are split nut type. They are grabbing the threads concentrically. Literally, I buy these for my custom dies too! The FL dies are short enough to bump the shoulder well. They are smooth. The threaded collet can be locked read center. The expander doesn’t pull necks. I do wish they offered some minus expanders, but almost nobody does. The seaters are really concentric and easy to adjust. I actually prefer the Hornady adjustment to a micrometer. It would be nice if they had a longer sliding sleeve. The only thing better are Hornady bushing dies. That said, you really don’t need those most of the time. ... show more

I usually go with RCBS but since I was going with the 6.5 creadmore I figured why not go with the source. I very much like the bullet seating follower feature. Good fit and finish.

I really like Hornady Dies but gave it 4 stars because Hornady does not include a shell holder. The shell holder must be purchased separately and sometimes they are out of stock everywhere.

Works well! Checkout out the HORNADY you tube videos on setting up sizing/depriming die and the other on adjusting the seating die. Don’t forget you will need a shell holder if you don’t have one already.

I purchased this set for a new 6.5 Creedmore breaking from my normal RCBS die loyalty. I added the microadjust seating system and just ran a small 20 round batch. Concentricity was almost dead on, less than 0.001" runout for most, much better than any of my other die sets that don't use the Hornady floating collar. Seating depth only varied by +-0.001" as well. Headspace on sized cases were within 0.0005" of each other. You can spend a lot more money if you want to but I just don't see how much more improvement you could be hoping for. ... show more
