I couldn’t wait to get my new Hori Hori tool to work. I planted, dug, cut, twisted flowers, herbs & weeds. The tool is heavy & well built with the handle having screws not nails. It isn’t too heavy to handle but sturdy enough to dig into our heavy clay soil without bending the blade or breaking the handle. Great to remove unwanted weeds. Because of the forked tip you just dig, twist & they come out. The serrated edge was great for cutting through the bags of mulch I had. I didn’t have to get another tool to open the bags. This tool is so versatile. Great for all my gardening & yard work. It is good to have the sheath also for protection, nice feature. Love it!!

Strongly built of quality materials, transition to handle is a strong full tang insertion. So handy in the garden, one tool for many tasks, great for cutting and prising out weed roots and sawing small diameter tough stems and pruning soft fleshy stems, loosening and opening planting holes, cutting open bags, light cultivating around plants, cutting twine for supporting tomato branches etc. Nice belt looped holster.

So far I have successfully used tool to remove dandelions and seedling trees in my large perennial flower beds! I particularly like the forked tip blade for root removal. Knife is well made, easy to hold and grip while digging and cutting.

This is a great hori-hori knife for the price, overall. It has a sturdy, heavy-bodied feel, and does the jobs I’d expect of a hori-hori. It feels good in the hand. It’s semi-sharp out of the box. The smooth edge is easy to sharpen with a tool sharpener. The hooked knife, the tip fork, and the serrated blade will take some skills and tool(s) I don’t readily have. I use tools like these primarily for carrying everywhere I go in the garden so I can quickly dig out small weeds, transplant small plants and plugs, maybe cut some smallish roots and branches. This does those jobs well for me l. The curved, trowel-like blade profile makes planting plugs and small bulbs a breeze. Pros: - heavy, solid-feeling construction - blade looks to be full-tang - curved profile makes digging easy - easy to sharpen the smooth edge Cons: - sheath doesn’t snap easily with one hand - sheath has a sewn belt loop only, no clip - hooked blade not very sharp, will take some skill to sharpen that and the serrated edge - large drilled hole in handle is a little rough/splintered at the edges; I will probably sand and oil it for longevity Overall, seems to be a very useful multipurpose gardening tool, especially for the price.

This tool is no cheap one time use item.When you first grab it out of the box you say wow that's nice. You can feel the craftsmanship on you hand. The sheath is also well made. I haven't used all the functions as we're just getting into the season here in Maine. I would recommend this product.
