Had to drill mounts so it tucked under the fenders more, definitely not necessary just gave a cleaner look. overall was really easy and for a cheaper bumper would highly recommend it, will be getting a second one for the other XJ. (if you are wondering it is a 1999 and fit fine)

Arrived early and was pretty simple to put on. Had to do some trimming to get the bumper to sit back more so if you don’t want to cut your fenders I wouldn’t get this. but overall I think it looks good. I ended up getting new hardware for the frame mount I didn’t trust the body clips from the stock bumper. Not sure if mine was missing them or it just doesn’t come with them but other than that I will say I’m pleased with the outcome of this bumper for the price. ... show more

Super easy install. The pictures with the item don’t show it but it also come with the two brackets that attach the bumper to the frame. We’ll see if it’s strong enough for a winch.

    • Very substantial upgrade from stock!
Very easy to piece together and all parts aligned w/o any drilling required. This bumper is at least twice as thick as stock and you'll notice the heft required. You could do it alone, but the 2nd person makes it go much quicker lining up the holes for bolts and double checking tightness. The packaging had damage from shipment/indequate reinforcement and caused a few minor surface scratches on a corner as well as a scratch or two that likely happened prior to packaging process since bag and box above other scratches was intact. They were quick to gather pics to see problem and compensate accordingly. I have yet to hook up lights, but the seem to be of good structural quality. I liked how easy this was to install. The best part about it is all the hardware you need is included. Did have to cut the side fender in order to have the bumper close to the grill. I was not OK with a half inch gap or more. Are super happy with the outcome. Wish I did not have to use the original bumper nuts only because they’re truly not nuts they are very flimsy and one of them was split. Which sent us to the hardware store to find one that fit ... show more

Came will all required hardware. Brackets were small enough to not need to mess with the gear box. Paint had no blemishes. I have an 89 xj so i had to trim my fenders. Fog lamps work. Over all im very impressed with quality

    • Junk do not buy.
Bumper is junk looked nice until I used it 1 time. The bumper isn't sturdy. Mine is bent badly at the brackets and the actual bumper itself.
