I purchased this kitchen island in order to hold my stand mixer and air fryer. My stand mixer and air fryer had been sitting on a portion of kitchen counter that had to be removed to make space for a new chest freezer to sit. I now needed a place to keep my stand mixer and air fryer handy, and with the loss of part of the kitchen counter, I had no room to place these 2 appliances, plus I also did not have any room to put a kitchen island, or even a utility cart in my small apartment kitchen. When I saw the photo of this kitchen island on Amazon, it looked exactly like what I needed. I had been searching for something to hold the mixer and air fryer that had wheels or casters, giving it the mobility I needed to move the appliances into the kitchen near to an electrical outlet for use, and the ability to easily move them back to another room for storage. The unit also had to be strong enough to hold their combined weight of 42 pounds. After deciding that the most convenient room to place the unit in was against a dining room wall closest to the kitchen, I measured the wall space, as I needed the unit to not stick out from the wall any more than 15”-16”, since any unit with a depth wider than that, would impede the path from the kitchen and dining room into the living room. I also did not want the unit to look like it belonged in the kitchen, but more like a piece of furniture that would blend in with my new dining room table, buffet and China cabinet. A utility cart would positively look awful. I also was hoping to find a unit with a closed storage space to keep a counter top vacuum food saver and its accessories in that could be kept hidden behind a closed door, plus a drawer for smaller kitchen tools, ie., can openers, pot holders, scissors, etc., and maybe some shelves for my cookbooks to sit handily on. This kitchen island seemed to have exactly what I needed. I was concerned, however, if I would be able to put it together by myself as I did not have much experience putting together any other furniture except bookcases. When the unit arrived, I removed all of the furniture pieces, hardware and instructions from the box, and checked to make sure that nothing was missing. The instructions and diagrams seemed clear enough, and in about 4 1/2 hours, I had finished putting the unit together. The only problem I had while putting it together was with some of the holes that were small, making the screws tight-fitting which was hard on my weak hands. An electric drill to make the holes a tiny bit wider would have made the job easier. However, the finished kitchen island looked as nice as it did in the photo on Amazon. The casters enable the island to move easily over to the kitchen and back, the drawer glides open and shut as does the door covering the enclosure. The shelves inside the enclosed cabinet and the shelves that fit inside the open part of the island are adjustable, up and down, to make enough height for taller items to be stored. They are also removable in case even more space is required for larger items. I love this kitchen island! It looks nice in the dining room, it looks like it costs much more than it actually does, it holds my appliances, kitchen tools, cookbooks and has a rack for hanging a kitchen towel plus a place to hold paper towels, and moves easily into the kitchen when needed. I definitely would recommend this unit to anyone who is in need of a unit that has mobility, storage space, is not too large and looks good.

Good value for the money. Materials are pretty sturdy as well. The only reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars is because it's cumbersome to put together and the directions could be more detailed. All in all I like it. It looks great in my kitche.

I am very pleased with this cart. It fits in a smaller space and yet has lots of room to store stuff, and the wheels lock so there's no movement unless I want to move it somewhere else. Love the color and the top woodblock is excellent, as it's very sturdy. Came beautifully boxed with no damage.

If you are like me and you are low on counter space. I suggest that you get this portable island. It gives me more space to work with, and it acts as miniature pantry. The wheels make it easy to move. Tooks some time to assemble but worth it once its completed.
