    • Good quality, very sturdy, simplistic design, easy assembly
The media could not be loaded. This bookcase is excellent for a variety of reasons. It's designed to not be quite as bulky and obtrusive as some which seem to take up more space than they provide. This one is basic but well thought out and has plenty of shelving and room for various items - books, plants, papers, etc. Another great feature too is, it's just as functional inside your home as it would be in a garage, storage room or other setting. To me, the pieces look great and would fit in nicely with most any home decor. The shelf is relatively easy to assemble, although there are several pieces and a lot of screws to install. The instructions are pretty easy and simple to follow, just take your time and pay close attention to the details as you go through the process. A couple of things I want to mention regarding the assembly is, there are a couple of the uprights (the #2's and #3's) which each have a threaded hole on one side, make sure these holes are all on the same side when you assemble those uprights. This will save you time and frustration because the instructions aren't crystal clear on this aspect. Also, on that same side as the threaded holes, when you install the #10 shelves, make sure the two holes in the #10 shelves is on the same side as those threaded holes. Again, just a heads up to help you out. I posted a video of my assembly process and at the very beginning, I show the whole unit assembled with both of the above points shown and explained. Once everything is put together, the shelf is very sturdy and nice looking. The black, metal bracing and supports accentuate the woodgrain look of the shelves and back panels. Yes, the shelves are made of particle board, not real wood, but you won't find a bookshelf of this quality and price with real wood in it. And again, the look and design is simplistic but that does not take away from the functionality of the product. This shelf will fit easily in tight spaces where a large one might not. And it provides plenty of storage options with a minimal footprint. All of this and still providing a modern, stylish look! The only downside is the drawer is not the best quality. It's a basic, fold-out type with a bottom insert, all made out of some type of hard fiber. It's not made to support a lot of weight, more for smaller, lighter items. But on the flip side, you could make your own drawer from wood or particle board if you need something stronger and robust. I challenge you to find any other similar type of product with a different, sturdier drawer. This is probably the third product similar to this one with the same type of drawer in it that I've gotten. Overall, I'm very impressed with this bookshelf. The design, ease of assembly and quality all make it an excellent choice when extra space or storage is needed. Regarding value, it's right in line with other bookshelves of similar design, so I feel it is a good value, and I definitely recommend it. ... show more

There is so much organizing room on these shelves. Each one can hold up to 44 lbs. Four of the shelves even have a full back so items don’t fall off the back of the shelf. This also works as a backdrop to highlight special items that you want to display. The drawer is located in the center tower, and is great for hiding items you don't want to display. The bookshelf has a strong black steel frame with waterproof MDF shelves in a neutral rustic brown finish. The 3 columns of shelves are staggered for an interesting design. It has a metal cross brace at the back for added strength. Once everything is assembled and all the screws tightened it is amazingly strong. The assembly instructions and pictures were clear and easy to follow. The adjustable legs are handy for leveling the triple width framework even if your floors aren’t level. They have also added an anti tip kit for safety. This is a very nice shelf unit. ... show more
