Review: Montessori Toys for 1–6-Year-Old, Toddlers Wooden Expressions 32 in 1 Preschool Kids Wood Gifts, Autism Sensory Educational Toys for Boys Girls Age 3-5, Stocking Stuffers for Kids This is a very fun toy with so many faces that, as I looked, I couldn't tell if I had already seen a particular one. What toddlers and others do with this Montessori toy is match the eyes and a mouth together. There are so many options to choose from and it creates hours of good learning and fun. Both the eye portions and the mouth portions are so expressive and sometimes even funny. This will give little children a fun activity but may also teach them about emotions. This can give the parents a chance to explain, in a manner appropriate for their child's age, what emotions are, why we have them and, at times, need to control them. It may give an older toddler, who can talk but may not be feeling well, a chance to express their feelings by asking him/her to put the faces together that express how they feel. This may be helpful to get the conversation started. The painting is very well done and looks like (just my judgement) it has been sealed to last a long time. The pieces are made of wood, not plywood, but the product page just says, "natural wood". The wooden pieces are very smooth, and the curved/round areas of the faces are nicely cut and finished. There are no burrs or sharp pieces. In the title for this toy, it says for children from 3 to 5 years old. Then in a couple places later in the body of the product page, and in answering a question, it states that this can be used with a one-year-old. It probably can, but for parents, this might get confusing if they want to follow the toy's suggested guidelines.     • This has become one of our favorite games
We like this fun and silly match game. Half the time the kids don't use the cards but instead they put silly faces together for fun. They do use the cards to mimic the 6 designs on the cards. This can keep them busy for about 15-20 minutes. I certainly like it as a gift as well.

    • Great emotion puzzle
Bought this to use at a speech and occupational therapy clinic. We use it in OT for fine motor of putting the pieces together. In speech, they label the emotions, match the cards and talk about them.
