My son loves this and it keeps him busy for a long time but one major flaw is if he drops it at all the batteries have enough room to disconnect from their position and it won’t turn back on unless you take a screwdriver open up the battery compartment And reattach them every time it gets dropped, we were able to put a piece of foam in between the battery and the cover of the battery compartment, but it did not come with it. We had to figure it out.

We had one previously that he loved to death, so I thought I’d get him a new one for a trip we were taking (we were traveling 30+ hours each way on planes). This keeps him occupied sometimes for 20-30mins. He LOVES it. I love that the battery is screwed in, but the quality is great, even for a little guy like ,mine who is only 1.5 he’s able to do most of them (now he can even plug in and out), this is a great way to practice those smaller hand-eye coordination skills. And everyone loves colored lights! Must have for a toddler!!!

The batteries slid it of place inside the battery compartment when my child drops it. Have to unscrew the cover just to pop them back into place. Wish it had extra protection to keep them when dropped.

My 2 yr old grandson had one of these types of busy boards and was only momentarily interested in it. The next thing you know it’s doesn’t work right anymore. So when I saw this similar model I decided to give it another try. He really loves this new one and fiddles with it every time he comes over to our home (3 days per week). This one is larger than the last one he had and has 12 color coded lights/ switches where the others tend to have only nine. I also notice there is an increased variety of the type of switches. Not only the handle styles, but some switch vertically and some horizontal. So that was a new experience for him. Also, one is a dial with a dimmer bulb, and another has a cord to plug in to activate a light. There are two push buttons next to each other to activate their corresponding lights, and one of them stays down to keep its light on when you let go, but the button next to it will only activate its light as long as it’s held down. At first I thought it was an error in how it was built, but then I realized it’s another variation to keep the child discovering things work in different ways. The only things I wish were different is I miss the key (like a car ignition key) that some other models have. My grandson’s previous one had a key and that was one of his favorite features. Also, there are a couple of switches that are (supposed to be) yellow, however either the light appears more amber, or visa versa, where the switch color is amber and activates a yellow light. I believe the different types of plastics among the switches and bulbs is what is causing this. But aside from that barely noticeable qwerk, I think this particular busy board is among the best out there.

This is a well made, smooth wooden toy. There are no rough patches and no sharp edges. The wood appears to either be sanded very fine or treated with a thin conditioner but no evidence of a varnish/polyurethane type coating that I can tell. It is a beefy toy but not heavy. Our 1 y/o can pick this up and handle it well, although the metal switches do make me a little nervous being small and pokey. If your child is into switches and buttons, this is definitely the toy for them. In fact, our baby, who has been fussy all day, is currently being quietly entertained by this busy board.
