Used this for making my own 5 gallon honey bucket. The screw for the gate does not tighten enough to completely seal off any leaks. We had to add a washer to get it to seal. Overall very simple to install, easy to use and does exactly what I purchased it for.

The gate works well but the silicon o ring is too stretchy to get a good seal. When I tightened it onto the bucket it bulged and then popped out the side. I replaced it with a rubber one and it works perfectly. It help water for 12 hrs bone dry.

I have been beekeeping for over 25 years and have used several types of honey gate valves for 5 gallon buckets. This honey gate does a great job and costs far less than the beekeeping wholesalers. I highly recommend these honey gate valves.

Shipping was very fast, and item is as expected. The honey gates are of excellent quality, and I've had no trouble with them. They are plastic and have metal screws. The seal functions as designed and flow is stopped when gate is closed. I recommend this product.
