A small preface: I’m in my 20’s and have been diagnosed with systemic lupus along with problems of hypermobility and syncope. I’m also suspected of having ehlers-danlos syndrome as well as postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. The TLDR of this is I’m prone to dizziness, falls, fainting, and irregular heart rate and blood pressure. As someone my age, it can be very embarrassing or jarring to have to rely on a cane due to health conditions. However I knew that if I wanted to get around better and not rely on my partner so much, it was worth investing in this. I knew what to look for in concerns to overall design such as grip, base, and adjustability, it was just about finding a product that I could not only trust but feel good with. My first thought was the Hurrycane, having remembered seeing the commercials when it was first marketed. Having a flexible base was very important to me as it would not only keep me more steady due to the larger surface area, it would feel more natural walking. I searched for hurrycane and it popped up with a decent price. It came in two colors and while that was well and fine, I saw this product listed below it and that it had the number one seller of it’s category. Honeybull offers so many colors and after looking at the pink one, I knew that I would feel better since it is one of my favorite colors. The base is sturdy and flexible, so it feels super natural to walk with. The hand grip is comfortable and doesn’t hurt my fingers even after being out for a long time. The adjustable shaft is super easy and quick to use for when I’m wearing flats or heels, and it can quickly collapse and be stored in the travel bag provided. Since I currently use my cane as needed, I don’t use it all the time. It’s predominantly used on days when my pain is higher than normal and when my balance feels unstable. The fact that it can fit in a large purse or my backpack is great for when I know I’ll be out of the house longer than normal so I can keep it on hand. The only qualm I have is that I wish it could shrink an inch or two more when collapsed so it could fit better in other bags. Using a backpack while shopping makes you look suspicious where I live, but that is more of a me problem. This is a wonderful cane and it has made my life easier by giving me more stability and freedom without having to push myself. I definitely plan on getting a second one eventually, just to have another color to work with!

I already own the HurryCane and love the handle comfort, flexiblity in the main section when I take a step, adjustability, and ability to help me balance while moving along in my usual gait. I did not like how l could not adjust it low enough for my 4'8" sister. I wanted a cane that did not fall over like the Hurrycane does so I kept searching. This Honeybull Cane really does stand on its own. It does not fall over easily. It has a small enough three point tip balanced under the circlar tip shield so I allows for easy navigation without posing a trip hazard like four point canes do. This helps the cane maintain stability. I deducted one star was for the hard, uncomfortable handle grip. The handle needs to be slightly thicker and made of a softer rubber material so it feels like the Hurrycane Freedom Edition handle. Honeybull also needs to have a litle "give" in the shaft like Hurrycane manages to accomplish. The Honeybull cane is reverberating through my arm and elbow with every step I take. Seems like an easy solution by softening the handle and maybe the tips with rubber.

The fact that it can be folded up and kept in my bag on the days I can manage without it is beyond perfection. This looks like a good cane. It's sturdy. It's comfortable to grip. It's lightweight. Very importantly, it stands on its own and does not fall over easily. (If you ever need to wash your hands in a public restroom, you'll be extremely grateful to have a cane that you can just let go without needing to find a place to hang it or worry about picking it up off the floor.) It's also really nice that you can use the strap to tie it closed. Other canes require you to slip on a plastic sleeve to keep it folded, so you have to find a place to keep the sleeve when it's not in use and if you lose the sleeve, you'll be hard-pressed to find a replacement. The problem is that it only folds in thirds. Most folding canes fold into four sections. With three sections, the cane is already fairly long, and will only just fit into, for example, the pocket/basket of a rollator. This means that you have to collapse the handle to the lowest adjustment setting every time you fold the cane, and then when you unfold it you have to wiggle it around to get the button to pop out into the right hole in order to get it ready for use. With 4-section canes, you can just leave the button adjusted to the right height, open the cane, let the rubber band pull it straight, and be good to go. That's a huge functional difference if you're keeping the cane folded for occasional use, and I'm finding it's a deal-breaker for me.
