I thought that the 2 1/2 lb package would fill my 18” cushion, but it’s only about half enough. It does fluff out quite a bit once it’s released from the package. I think this would be good for stuffing toys, but for my purpose, it isn’t quite right. The pieces make the cushion look lumpy and the two different colors of the foam show through a little. I like to sew and to do crafts, and I like throw pillows that compliment the design of the room. In recent years the market began selling throw pillow covers separate from the pillow inserts, which I suppose is a good idea if you like changing the covers for holidays and special events but have limited storage space. Seriously, 20 pillow folded covers fit in a small linen closet that 20 stuffed pillows would never go into. Sometimes I want an extra pillow or to make a pillow as a gift, undoubtedly I will not have enough of any fiber fill on hand. When my best friend's husband died, her daughter asked me to make a pillow from his favourite t-shirt, with her mother's approval of course, so she could have something of his to hug to her. It meant the world to her. I have some pillows that I really like that are in need of new stuffing, and I am about to rock their world with memory foam this time! When I saw this product I was thrilled. Let me tell you; it does not disappoint. It comes vacuum packed, and your first thought may be, no way, but I caution you, do not open it in the middle of the floor or table. Lay it inside a large bag, (I chose a tall kitchen waste bag with draw strings), reach into the opening and cut the vacuum packed bag across the top and down both sides, flip it over and press the compacted product out, then sit back and watch the show. The picture I added was about 10 minutes after opening it, with the fluffed up foam laying beside the flat clear plastic bag it was vacuum packed in. Some of the yellow pieces of the foam were stuck together, and being the impatient person I sometimes am, I spent a few minutes pulling them apart. I suspect had I been patient they would have separated on their own when they had finished fluffing up. I have a pillow with wolves on it that my husband likes, I am not sure what happened to the fiber fill, but it is lumpy and bumpy. This memory foam will resolve that nicely. I couldn't wait to see how the foam felt, so I laid my head down on the plastic bag I have it in. It has a nice cushion and regained the original shape quickly after lifting my head. I could not detect a smell when I opened the original packaging. I see lots of revived and new pillows in my future without buying expensive pillow inserts. Great product. ... show more

I ordered this to replace the stuffing in an old sew and stuff angel pillow that has flattened ploy fill stuffing. This bag of stuffing is ample to fill the pillow, there is a lot of memory foam in the bag! The volume explodes when you open the compressed bag and the memory foam expands. For reference the pillow measures approximately 15"x10"x2" and this is what it looks like before the bag of stuffing was opened. I just need to wash the cover and restuff. I love memory foam because it is nice and soft and it holds it's shape. This memory foam feels great. Once I'm done, this little angel will actually be a comfy pillow. ... show more

This gel memory foam filler is way more supportive than traditional memory foam. It doesn’t squish down as easily; therefore, it doesn’t take as much filler as the other kind. I had filled my son’s bean bag with the standard kind. Took twice as much & even though it looked full, you’d sit on it & sink to the floor. That’s not the case with this gel memory foam. It was enough to fill about ¾ of his bean bag chair, but I could already tell a huge difference! Even ¾ full, it supported even my weight. Very soft & more comfortable than the Styrofoam beans & won’t have to be replaced. Saving me a lot of $$$. It doesn’t have any weird or chemical smell. It also doesn’t create as much mess as either of the other fillers. These are larger pieces, making it easy to clean up. Doesn’t have static. What does happen to fall out can simply be swept up, no trouble at all. I only wish I had found this sooner! Comes vacuum sealed, so I do recommend cutting it open & letting it expand for at least a day. If you want it to fully expand, I’d even pour it into a larger trash bag. The bag it comes it doesn’t allow the foam on bottom to expand until you empty it halfway. Excellent quality filler that can be used in various ways. Just go ahead and buy the Big Joe beads. I bought 10lbs of this stuff. It only filled half the chair and went you sit on it it compresses flat. And it weighs more than the chair filled with Big Joe Beads.

There is a lot of memory foam pressed into this bag! The color is not as advertised, but I like that the color is lighter, which is less likely to show through fabric. When you take it out of the bag, it comes out in clumps that need to be broken up by pulling each little piece apart from the next. I was disappointed to find a few pieces with a hard, rough brown side (<1% of the bag). These I threw away. Overall, this bag of memory foam pieces is a good value. ... show more
