Description

Fabric grow bags are much better at controlling the temperature and water content of your growing medium than traditional plastic pots. In the cold, the fabric will keep your plant warmer, and in the hot sun your plant will be kept cooler, so it doesn’t overheat. (ps: fabric bags may need more frequent watering, it’s because of the porous material which is less likely to hold in excess water as the old plastic pot materials do.) 1. Moisten the soil and compost mix thoroughly. Fill about 1/3 full (6"-8" deep) with a 50/50 mixture of garden soil and compost. 2. Evenly space 3 to 5 seed potatoes and/or pieces ("eyes up" ) and cover with 3 inches of soil. 3. As the potatoes continue growing, continue adding soil/compost mix until you reach the top of the grow bag. 4. Water regularly. During hot and dry summer days, potato plants should be watered once every 2 to 3 days. During cooler days with rainfall, potatoes may not need watering at all. 5. Look for signs when the leaves start yellowing and the stems wilt. Then stop watering and wait a week or two. Potatoes are ready for harvesting when more than 50% of the leaves have turned yellow. Fabric grow bags help to alleviate the issue because as the roots meet the edges of the fabric pot, they sense the drier soil that is exposed to the air. At this point, they know they have reached their growth limit. The roots become “air pruned” which is vital to growing healthy plants in containers. You will also get many more fibrous roots when air pruned. A more fibrous root system (many small root tips) allows the plants to take in more nutrients and water.

  • The Ultimate Potato Bags for Thriving Veggies!
Alright, let's get real here. These Potato Bags are an absolute godsend for any gardening enthusiast. I've tried various planting methods, and I can confidently say that these bags have revolutionized my veggie-growing game. First of all, the convenience factor is a major win. Gone are the days of backbreaking digging and tilling the soil. With these bags, you can start your potato-growing adventure with minimal effort. Just fill them up with soil, plant your spuds, and you're good to go! The durability of these bags is surprisingly impressive. I was a bit skeptical at first, fearing they might fall apart after a season or two. But boy, was I wrong! These babies are tough as nails and can handle the weight of the soil and your growing plants without any issues. What I love most is the harvest window. It's like peering into a treasure chest to see how your potatoes are doing. No more guesswork or accidentally stabbing your potatoes while checking their progress. It's a small feature, but it makes a world of difference. Sure, there are a few naysayers complaining about the handles, but I've had no problems whatsoever. Just be gentle with them, and they'll hold up just fine. After all, gardening requires a little TLC, right? I must admit, I'm not the most patient gardener, but these Potato Bags have taught me a thing or two about nurturing my plants. Watching my potatoes grow and flourish in these bags has been an absolute delight. In the end, if you want a hassle-free, efficient, and rewarding gardening experience, do yourself a favor and grab these Potato Bags. You'll have a blast watching your veggies thrive, and you might even surprise yourself with your newfound green thumb. Happy gardening, fellow plant lovers! ... show more

  • Part I~Well, They Won't Go To Pot
Regrettably, I am unable to take photos to show what I'm going to describe. Both the black & the gray are going to get the job of container gardening done. But, the gray pot growers are not as sturdy as the black with their sides already beginning to cave, & they have rapidly become very stained by the soil & water. The black pot growers still look brand new & stand erect. The dirty, stained appearance is really not a big deal, but I mention it because the containers are visible from the road & are less attractive than the black. However, all the pot growers have been filled equally with the same soil & additives, just with differing types of seed potatoes, so it doesn't make sense why the sides of the gray pots are already caving. In the future, I will look to purchase only the black pot growers. Part II~They're Growing On Me! My complaint about the gray pots is more about asceticism than their functionality. They are stained & look ugly, so what. Although the sides of the gray ones still do not look or feel as sturdy as the black ones, they haven't caved in altogether, they aren't even slightly slumped, & that's after a few heavy downpours in the last 3 weeks. The black grow bags still look brand new. Meanwhile, the seed potatoes are growing right on schedule & that's all that really matters, right? Maneuverability & drainage are 2 of the essentials features that are my absolute must-haves & these bags deliver on both. 5 stars this time around & I will be ordering the exact same set again! ... show more

  • Nice buy
These was so fun to use! Love that I can just unzip to get food instead of dig it up.

  • Good but handles ripped already
Good but I tried to move them and the handles already ripped. It seems sweet potatoes are to heavy to move.

  • Great bags
They do what they say they do. They are sturdy and hold everything in place. Didn’t cause root rot and it was a great plus being able to lift up the flap and see where we were in the progress
