I put two of these together already and I might order another for another room. I love how strong they are. Actually the hardest part was sliding off the table and standing it upright cause it's fairly heavy. I am single woman, 69 years old with rheumatoid arthritis and I assembled this in about 1.5 hrs on a rainy Sunday, and that included taking the dog out once. It's a bunch of screws - that's it. I did it on my table cause it's hard for me to get on the floor and do things. The holes do line up but you gotta make sure you've got it laid out correctly. I propped the sides up using a cast iron pot and lid till i got the round tube supports in. The support cross bars will be anchored to holes on the outside of the frame. Make sure the holes are all on the SAME SIDE before you put the 3,4,5 sections together (I used a small hammer to put sides 3,4 and 5 into each other). If they are not on the same side you cannot put the cross supports into the holes and you'll wind up taking it apart and turning it over till the holes are all on the correct side. ADDITIONALLY - Make sure the patterns (ornamental squares) are aligned across from each other on each side. PAY ATTENTION to the fact that there are two and three bars on each side of the square (look for matches across from each other) then begin to place the screws for the round support bars - and you're good to go! The rest is a no brainer. If you are confident that you have aligned both sides exactly like the other you can tighten all the screws as you put them in. Otherwise if you've misaligned the sides you'll have to take it apart and start again till you get it right - LOL - so don't tighten them till the end. I had zero problems with this and didn't take anything apart, but I can see where it can go wrong. I hate going back and retightening things, so I just put them all in tight. It's not complicated just think when you're doing it and enjoy your finished project. You won't be sorry you bought this. It's very nice! ... show more

I'm genuinely impressed with how simple the assembly was, compared to some of the sassier reviews. The instructions were very clear and made a point to remind me not to tighten the screws until everything was in place. Hard to miss! Assembly was *easy.* I was expecting the usual wrestling match with misaligned screws and having to redrill holes, but everything lined up easily and cleanly. Kudos for that! The shelves came with metal inserts pre-installed for the screws to sink into, so I didn't have to worry about stripping or splitting boards. Maybe I've had too many bad experiences with Sauder, though. ;) The only complaint I have is pretty minor, and it's that the stickers labeling the parts don't come off without a fight. If the manufacturer is listening, please look into something with a smidge weaker adhesive power. I bought two of the 5-tier shelves and don't look forward to pulling these stinkers off.     • LOOKS TO BE A GREAT PRODUCT!!!

Just rec'd today. Took me 2 hours to put it together by myself. Unfortunately, I put a couple of things on backwards so had to redo those parts. Luckily, I caught the issue in time before going to the next step. I followed the instructions closely, but sure don't like the way manufacturers have changed their instructions. Pictures are smaller, so you really have to look close and do a double take to make sure you are putting pieces together correctly. I assume they think they are saving paper by making the pictures smaller, but it is not user friendly for the customer. I don't like wasting my time by having to redo parts of the setup and also take a chance of damaging screws or other parts. Other than that, seems to be great. I am using it along side of my refrigerator. So, no attaching to the wall for me at this time. It is a bit wobbly but I need to rotate the adjustment at bottom of leg to see if that will help. I also have not yet filled the shelf with enough stuff to weigh it down. All is all, I like it alot. ... show more

I put it together by myself. It took about 45min taking my time. As per instruction, and with anything like this.. do not tighten screws until fully assembled or it won't fit together. Very sturdy. LOVE the bars that run under the shelf because I hate shelving that bows. Great value for the money.

Great quality. I didn’t want to anchor to my wall so I just slid something under the front two legs to make it tilt back a bit. Then I loaded it with books and it now sits upright and sturdy (on carpet I might add) with no wobbling. My only small issue is with assembly. I did it myself and it’s totally doable. But, the directions are no where near detailed enough. You have to make sure all the panels are facing the exact right way (which sounds easier than it is)or you’ll end up screwing and unscrewing the entire thing multiple times until you get it right. Everything came in a medium size box that took 2 of us to get in the house. All the pieces were there, and fit together very well. I love the size of the shelf, perfect for the spot I wanted it for in my living room. One complaint is that the round stickers to help figure out what metal pieces are what are so hard to get off. Once I made sure I had the numbers I needed, I had to use goo gone to get the stickers off. I figured it would be easier to do before the shelf was built. I read the directions and medium tightened everything until I had it up, and then made sure all was level and then tightened. ... show more
