I have a home with a lot of west-facing windows. It's great in the winter. The solar heat warms up the house and the furnace kicks off. In the summer, it's brutal. The sun doesn't set until well after 8pm, so for 6-7 hours the whole west side of my home just bakes. Our AC can't keep up with the solar load. I bought this curtain to put on our back door. I had been using foam core (recycled science fair board) in an effort to block out the sun and heat. It did ok, but this curtain created a true black out effect. It was very easy to install. I put the velcro strip above the window on the door, pressed the curtain with the other side of the velco over the strip. Project done. I thought the foam core blocked out light, but this curtain kept every scrap of sunlight out as well as the heat. It is very easy to gather up the curtain from the bottom and use the cloth straps to swag it at the top. I haven't kept it in this mode yet since it's still 90 outside, but I tried it out and it works very well and is easy to configure. I bought a medium blue shade. The reverse is black, so from the outside you would see a black window when the curtain is down. I'm really happy with this. It looks nice and it blocks out the light, exactly what it professed and exactly what I wanted.

The quality of the fabric is really nice. They feel soft to the touch and have a premium look. The curtains are a perfect fit for our doors, and the easy installation was a big plus. I just used the attached hooks, and it was up in no time. I also appreciate that they’re not just blackout curtains—they help with temperature regulation too. My room stays cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, which is a nice bonus. The only reason I’m not giving them a full 5 stars is that I wish the material was a bit thicker. While they block light well, I noticed a tiny bit of light peek through on the sides, especially if the curtains aren’t positioned perfectly.

I have tried magnet blinds for my doors, and hated that. These are so easy to install and I love them! If you dont want sunlight (like in the hot summer) drop them. Love the look and the way they help with the sun situation. Totally blocks out the sunlight.

Thick heavy duty material. Very easy to put up. I do like the curtains can be pulled up like a blind, but I would like to have the option to pull half way up also. Color, thick material filters light & keeps my outside dog from spying to see if he’s missing getting treats.
