Body Length is .88 inches shorter than the aluminum HM3X.

The eye relief is not the best however if your Red/green dot is zeroed at25yards then you go to use the magnifier it’s good at a 100 yards dead on..

    • Good but..
I have several of the full size Holosun magnifier and I decided to try this smaller one on a pcc build. I took one star because the eye relief is not as good as the full size and another star for it being just about the same weight. I thought I might be able to have this one at the back of my rail, but not sitting over the charging handle. Not the case. So 100 more for slightly worse eye relief, no weight savings, and 1 inch of rail space gained. Save your money and get the full size. However, sighting at 25-30 yards still had me right on at 100 yards, just like it’s big brother. ... show more

    • Terrible eye relief
This magnifier has a terrible eye relief and is not usable on anything larger than a 22 rifle. Nearly impossible to get the reticule of the optic your looking through in the center of this magnifier.

    • Great magnifier but too pricey
Great magnifier but the price is too much. I can get a scope with a 4-15 magnifier for that price. The damn thing is the price of a scope.

    • Impressive used with a Holosun Green Dot scope, but eye relief is challenging with larger calibers.

The Holosun magnifier is a very high quality device and enables effective use of a Dot sight for much longer distances. It also helps to relieve effects of astigmatism with a dot sight. After I purchased the HM3XT and used it a while, I took another look at the HM3X (aluminum) model and found some aspects that could be advantageous. The 1" longer eye piece on the non-T model could add flexibility in rail mounting position, and may even buy enough space to add a flip BUIS behind it. Used with a .223 rifle that has minimum recoil it is a real joy but larger caliber rifles, like a .308 will find the short eye relief a challenge. ... show more

I think we all know by now where Holosun fits in the spectrum of quality optics. As a civilian that goes larping at the range from time to time this magnifier works excellent.
