Informative and to the point, though the first chapter on the history of carburetors is not really required for a technical book. Found the theory of operation especially helpful as a foundation for the specific operation of Holley carbs- or any for that matter. Very easy to read and understand. It's not a have-it-on-the-fender book like a Chilton's, but if you're looking for a good primer on how your Holley operates before tearing into it- it's worth the money. Will likely pay for itself in avoiding unnecessary upgrades. Also sections for race and high performance tuning. I know the author and know that he knows Holleys (and a lot more). I had a carb he gave me to use on a bracket racer. He'd set it up so I didn't have to do anything but run it. Book describes all the functions and features of most of the Holley line and tells the reader how to tune and modify them for maximum performance. ... show more

Book is large like repair manual so it is easy to read and follow along in the shop. Photos are black and white but are very clear. Info on blower carb modification is very accurate and explained in detail. I would recomend to anyone who is trying to tune a holley!!!!

    • It's OK if you are new to Holley
It seems as though the author took a lot of time and effort to write a really basic book. I didn't find much in modifying my carb. Most of it was information that is free if you call Holley tech support. The only modifications I found tell you it's strictly for a race vehicle, NOT a street rod. I was disappointed but if you don't want to go through the hassle of calling Holley and waiting a long time for tech support, then I guess it's OK. ... show more
